Two events will herald the start of the Christmas season at Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church (MOPC), 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville. “Dark Night, Bright Light” Event Promise Players To Stage To Supplement Trick-Or-Treating “Don’t Kick The Turkeys” Warding off ghosts was the original purpose of wearing costumes and lighting bonfires when the ancient Celts created Halloween’s precursor, Samhain. Children and adults may learn more at the “Dark Night, Bright Light” event on Thursday, Oct. 31. Oak Hill Fellowship Church and Solid Rock Youth Ministries have partnered to offer a fun stop for trick-or-treaters in Quarryville on Oct. 31. The doors of the Solid Rock Youth Center, 34 E. State St., Quarryville, will be open from 6 to 8 p.m., and visitors may stop in to play games, receive candy and refreshments, and learn about the Gospel.
