Octoraro Watershed Association Sets Photography Contest Those who enjoy the scenic views in the Octoraro Watershed, which includes 208 square miles in southern Chester and Lancaster counties, as well as Cecil County, Md., are invited to take part in a photography contest being presented by the Octoraro Watershed Association (OWA). The contest is not limited to those who live in the watershed’s geographical areas, but all photos must depict images from the watershed. The watershed includes the Octoraro Creek that flows into the Susquehanna River downstream from the Conowingo Dam, which in turn empties into the Chesapeake Bay. “We are so happy to once again conduct the OWA photography contest. All are welcome to participate as long as the photo was taken somewhere within the Octoraro Watershed,” said Rupert

Registration has opened for the 27th annual Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 (IU13) education conference scheduled for Tuesday, June 23. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, 1600 Book Road, Lancaster. Registration will open at 7:45 a.m., and attendees may partake of a continental breakfast while they visit the door prize zone and sponsor tables. “Agents of Change ... Mission POSSIBLE” is this year’s conference theme. “It is the hope that this conference will inspire anyone in the educational community to accept the mission of educating all learners,” said IU13 early childhood and special education services program director Kathy Rose. new opportunity for youngsters at Grace Community Church of Willow Street (GCCWS), 212 Peach Bottom Road, Willow Street. The church will offer a summer musical theater camp on Monday through Friday, June 15 to 19, for children of all abilities who will enter first through eighth grades in the fall. The camp will meet from 9 a.m. to noon every day, with a 6:30 p.m. performance on June 19. Sunday, May 24, has been set as the deadline to register to attend the camp, and an early bird special on the cost will be available through Wednesday, April 1.
