Members of Colemanville United Methodist Church (UMC), 210 Colemanville Church Road, Conestoga, have been busy preparing for the Family Fall Fun Festival they will host on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 2 to 6 p.m. Individually and in groups, folks have planned a variety of games, contests, and other activities that will be offered at no charge. “It’s free, just like God’s love,” said planning committee member Linda Reburn. “We’re trying to reach out to our community,” added committee member Ellen Peifer. Costumes are welcome but not required. “We want it to be fun, not scary,” Reburn noted. There will be a straw maze, face painting, guessing games, barrel train
rides, pumpkin painting, the “A Day in the Life of a Farmer” challenge, Trunk or Treat, photo opportunities, and pieeating contests. During the farmer challenge, contestants will be timed on how quickly they can complete basic farming tasks like collecting eggs, shelling an ear of corn, watering animals, and stacking straw bales. Competitors will be able to choose between apple and pumpkin for the pie-eating contest. “We encourage family members to compete against each other,” Reburn commented. “It should be fun.” All of the activities will conclude by 5 p.m., when a light dinner will be served and a door prize drawing will be held. Each household that attends will be entered to win a themed basket. Church members have filled containers relating to themes such as ice cream, breakfast, movie night, fishing, See Colemanville UMC pg 10
