question about it,” ACT board president Karen Weaver said. “It’s a wonderful evening to enjoy in a safe, fun environment.” Elaborate costuming fits the show, with the purpose of catching the interest of the audience, while the wellknown music and timeless story are dear to adults as well as children. “We have an extraordinary costumer who has costumed for us for years,” Weaver said. She noted that some of the outfits for this production are very unusual, such as those of the clock and the teapot. Weaver is co-directing with Mala Marcano, while Lisa Patrick is music director. At 89 years of age, Albert Gans is not just a member of the Oxford Area Senior Center (OASC); he is a longtime teacher there, leading art classes every Wednesday from 8 to 11:15 a.m. “I’ve been doing this at least 20 years at the Oxford Senior Center, maybe longer,” Gans said. Gans was an electronic engineer until he retired at the age of 65 and had time to turn his attention to fine art. He credits his pursuit of teaching art to the late Amy Beeman, whom he met through the Octorara Art Association, where she was president for several years. See Art Classes pg 7
