Artwork by Octorara Area School District students from kindergarten through grade 12 will be on display in Parkesburg businesses during the first Parkesburg Art Walk. On Friday, March 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, March 23, from noon to 4 p.m., eight businesses along the 200 and 300 blocks of Main Street in Parkesburg will have select student artwork on display. The public is invited to drop in all the shops and see the high quality and creativity of the student art. “It’s going to be a great opportunity for the community and the school,”
said seventh- and eighth-grade art teacher Debbie Ward. Ward brought the idea to the Parkesburg Action Committee (PAC) after seeing how well the gallery walks in West Chester are received. “We’ve been partnering with the school district on a number of things, and this is just another way that we can help promote Parkesburg and the great things going on in the school district,” PAC member Jenny Alexander said. “It’s exciting that the Parkesburg Action Committee can be branching out in this way. Our whole goal in town is to highlight the great things that happen here.” The art on display will cover a See Art Walk pg 2
