Faith United Methodist Church, 1290 Fruitville Pike, Lititz, will host a homemade chicken corn soup sale on Saturday, Feb. 23. Preorders may be picked up between 9 and 11 a.m. Walkins are welcome, with soup available from 10 a.m. until sold out. Freshly made soup featuring the previous summer’s corn may be purchased by the pint or quart, and containers will be supplied. Preorders can be made by calling the church office at 717-560-0321. The Baron Stiegel Lions Club of Clay and Elizabeth Townships will hold a buffet breakfast and soup and barbecue sale on Sunday, March 3, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brickerville Fire Hall, located on Hopeland Road at Route 322. The all-you-can-eat meal will feature a large selection of breakfast items for a set fee, with children able to eat for half-price. Tickets can be purchased at the door. The unofficial kickoff of the local yard sale season will take place on Saturday, March 2, when Ruhl’s United Methodist Church (UMC), 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim, will host an indoor yard sale. Shoppers are invited to search for bargains at the 20th annual event, which will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. “Spring starts soon after (our event), so we are the first ones in the yard sale circuit because we have it inside,” said Kris Gray, one of the event organizers, noting that a variety of goods will be available for sale. “People bring all kinds of stuff from clothing, books, puzzles and games to collectibles - you name it.” Gray noted that more than 40 standholders will participate in the yard sale. “Most are church members, but we also See Indoor Yard Sale pg 2
