The Lampeter-Strasburg (L-S) High School Thespian Society welcomes audiences to check in to Monkswell Manor for the classic Agatha Christie murder mystery “The Mousetrap.” Performances of the 2018 fall play will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Nov. 8, 9, and 10, in the school’s Performing Arts Center, 1600 Book Road, Lancaster. “The Mousetrap” holds the world record for longest-running play, with more than 27,000 performances in London’s West End since 1952. The play was written for the stage by Christie, who is known as the “Queen of Mystery” and the best-selling novelist of all time. “The Mousetrap” is famous for its twist ending as well as for the direct request to the audience not to reveal the ending to others. The L-S production is directed by

English teacher Susan Rettew. Only eight actors make up the cast: seniors Pierson Castor, Logan Emmert, Katrina Herrera, Matthew Monroy, and Braeden Weaver; juniors Jillian Pontz and Joseph Long; and sophomore Samantha Monroy. The cast has been in rehearsals since September. The actors are supported by stage managers Lauren Kneisley, a junior, and senior Skye Reinacher, plus a crew of dedicated students and staff members. Tickets are on sale in the high school office on weekdays from 2 to 4 p.m., and they may be purchased at the door at 6:30 p.m. each night of the performances. Separate prices have been set for adults and for students and senior citizens. Seating is general admission. For more information, readers may call the school at 717-464-3311.
