Troop 97 recently took part in a Klondike Adventure at Hidden Valley Scout Reservation. The theme was “Bigfoot - A Cryptozoological Expedition.�
The weekend included opportunites to apply Scouting skills and leadership training. The Klondike is an exercise in problem
solving with contests of skills. Scout patrols from many troops acted as huskies, pulling a homemade sled around a field course marked by stations. At the

Hershey Lions Club Marks 75 Years

The Hershey Lions Club celebrated its 75th anniversary on Nov. 9, 2019, with a charter anniversary celebration held at the Hershey Country Club. Special guests included Lions Clubs International past

president Al Brandel and his partner in service, Lion Dr. Maureen Murphy. Since the club’s chartering, its members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, such as eyeglass collections, eye exams and eyeglasses for uninsured residents, tree planting, food bank collections, and youth sport sponsorships. Proceeds from past fundraising events have supported student scholarships, other organizations, and hands-on service. During this special anniversary year, the Hershey Lions Club plans to expand its community service, including a food bank collection and a child sight eye screening, and to increase its membership growth. In 1944, the Hershey Lions Club was organized with 30 members in Auchenbach’s restaurant on East Chocolate Avenue and was sponsored by the
