Welcome to the official England Lacrosse digital programme for the 2025 National Schools Lacrosse Championships.
This year’s Championships will once again take place at the Aldershot Garrison Sports Field from Saturday 8 to Tuesday 11 March and we thank the Army and their team, as always, for accommodating us in 2025.
The National Schools Lacrosse Championships is undoubtedly the highlight of the school lacrosse year and something we at England Lacrosse always look forward to so we, naturally, cannot wait for this year’s event.
The past 12 months have been a particularly exciting time for everyone in the lacrosse community with the news that lacrosse has been awarded a significant amount of money to help towards preparing teams ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA where the six-a-side Sixes version of lacrosse will be played.
Obviously, we are beyond thrilled and excited about this news at England Lacrosse and we’re doing everything we can to support the IOC, World Lacrosse, Wales Lacrosse, Lacrosse Scotland, and other relevant parties to ensure we, and British Lacrosse, are in the best possible place ahead of qualification for those 2028 Olympics.
With those Olympic Games just over three years away now, many of the young, talented players on show at the 2025 National School Lacrosse Championships will be at the right age in 2028 to be involved in that competition and we are excited to see how they progress in their lacrosse careers between now and then.
That’s not the only good news from the past year or so as our England women’s side became European champions once again in July, our England under-20 men’s team secured second place at their Euros, our England men’s box team finished fourth at their World Championship, and the first ever England women’s box team claimed an historic fifth place finish at the inaugural Women’s World Championship!
Looking forward to the rest of this year, it’s going to be slightly less busy in terms of international lacrosse with just the two tournaments taking place overseas, including the Men’s European Championship in Wroclaw, Poland and the World Lacrosse U20 Men’s Championship in Seogwipo-Si, Korea.
None of what we have been able to achieve over the past year would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of everyone within the lacrosse community, including those at a grass-roots level in schools and clubs across the country.
We would like to personally thank every single one of you for helping to keep lacrosse going during this period.
The National Schools Lacrosse Championships aim to showcase young talent and give the athletes involved a taste of the sort of high level competition they may not already be used to.
So, a huge thank you from England Lacrosse to the schools and in particular, the girls competing, who will arrive in Aldershot in March prepared and ready to play some excellent lacrosse and we’re all looking forward to another brilliant event.
The venue will be open to spectators from 8am on each competition day.

Godolphin School put 2024 National Schools Lacrosse Championships heartbreak behind them as they snatched a first School Challenge Cup title after a 9-5 final victory over hosts St Swithun’s School on Sunday.
An unbeaten day that saw them win all four competition games ensured Godolphin backed up their terrific performance at this year’s Nationals, where they came runners-up to Moreton Hall, to become just the fourth side to lift the School Challenge Cup trophy after Guildford High (3), St Catherine’s (1), and Berkhamsted (1).
Last year’s winners Guildford High, who were looking to win three School Challenge Cup titles in a row, had to make do with a fourth place finish after a 7-1 defeat to St Catherine’s in the bronze medal game followed a shock 6-4 semi-final defeat to St Swithun’s.
Likewise, 2021 School Challenge Cup winners St Catherine’s were knocked out at the semi-final stage after a 10-5 defeat to eventual winners Godolphin; they went on to claim third place in that bronze medal game versus Guildford High.
Westonbirt finished in fifth place after a close 11-7 win against Queen Anne’s in the fifth place game and were involved in undoubtedly the game of the competition in their quarterfinal match against St Catherine’s that went to two periods of sudden-death overtime before St Catherine’s clinched the victory 6-5.
2024 National Schools Lacrosse Championships winners Moreton Hall started well with a 9-6 victory over St Catherine’s but ultimately had to settle for a seventh place finish after a big 7-1 win over Haberdashers’ in the seventh place game.
The 2025 School Challenge Cup will once again take place in November and will feature the top eight schools from this year’s U19A Championship!
