OUR PEOPLE

Name: Michael Anaxagorou Job title: Sales Director How long you’ve been at Axter: 9.5 years Best thing about working for Axter: I really enjoy working within the Roofing sector – it’s a challenging but forward thinking part of the construction industry that ultimately goes onto provide an essential part of any building, keeping the structure and all its occupants safe and protected. This shared philosophy is why I started my journey here, and perhaps the fundamental reason why I am still here. Favourite Axter project: Fulham Wharf development in London. This prestigious £100m joint venture project between Barratt London and Sainsbury’s really tested my knowledge! It was a very challenging project from the outset with lots of upfront detail design input (over 50 bespoke waterproofing details), a tight programme, lots of different roof areas (+10,000/m2), build ups and a variety of complex interface details to overcome. Wholly rewarding to be able to say that you helped design and waterproof that structure. Best moment of 2017: Building the team; in much the same way I entered the business, this year I helped recruit five new Trainee Technical Sales Managers to bolster key geographical regions and to help grow our UK presence. I hope to continue the Axter tutelage and pass on my knowledge to the next generation to come.

Name: Luis Ramos Job title: Senior Technical Manager How long you’ve been at Axter: 2.5 years Best thing about working for Axter: I’m very lucky to be surround by a great group of people who all share the same desire for success. Favourite Axter project: This year we have completed Anderson School for the National Autistic Society, the first school completely designed to accommodate and create a suitable environment for Autistic children. With great support from our partners at Avonside Group and Rockwool, Axter was able to deliver a bespoke waterproof solution that will make a difference for the many children that will require special/different types of attention. Best moment of 2017: Following the successful launch of Axter Starcoat PMMA, it is a great feeling, as product champion, to secure the first big job in PMMA for Axter. With great support from Contour Roofing we have secured 7000m2 at Orchard Lodge, a project with Fairview.
