Draught Beer Online (DBO) are the official main UK supplier for LINDR cooling and dispensing systems and are a premier wholesale supplier of innovative beverage cooling, dispensing and storage solutions and the UK suppliers for the ECOFASS reusable kegging system, an economical and ecological alternative to metal kegs or non-reusable plastic kegs.

LINDR PORTABLE DRY COOLERS We have a wide range of models and styles of draught beverage dispensers of varying flow rates dependent on your requirements with single or double fonts. Some will offer adjustable pressure, designed using high quality polished stainless steel in combination with natural hardwood.

for a gas propellant. This makes the unit portable making it a convenient addition to your serving space. It couldn’t be easier just “Connect, Chill, Pour and Enjoy!”

The advantage of all our portable dispensers is that they have a solid plate chiller which cools the product of your choice down to 4 degrees within 5 -10 minute of switching on (even if the keg is not cold) and they also have the advantage of an on-board air compressor without the need

LINDR UNDER-COUNTER COOLERS We also offer a range of under-counter coolers, which are a more traditional set up to our dry dispenser coolers. Undercounter coolers can be used with either a CO2 gas regulator and gas bottle or an air compressor alongside any of the Lindr taps or towers. We offer two different types of under counter coolers Our AS range offers a classic water-cooling system used for many years. Water is poured inside the machine to start the cooling process. Within approx. 40 minutes an ice bank is created around the evaporator which then cools your chosen product for that crisp, fresh taste. Our CWP range also offers a water-cooling system, but uses a much newer technology. This technology uses an ecological refrigerant which enables this range to have 20%

LINDR DISPENSING TOWERS We offer a varied range of dispense towers that connect to the undercounter beer coolers which add the finishing touch to your bar set up. These towers differ not only in design, but also in the number of taps.

more cooling power with 20% lower electrical consumption. This range creates an instant energy so the cooler is ready to begin cooling after just 10 minutes from switching the machine on. The cooling and evaporating coils inside the machine sit close together creating that instant energy which is where the efficiency comes from. The machine doesn´t need to create an ice bank for cooling, it only creates an ice crust around the evaporator which is enough for a proper cooling process.

oliday Inn London-Kensington Forum, the landmark hotel on Cromwell Road, today unveils a fresh new look following a multi-million pound refurbishment programme; with significant upgrades to the guest bedrooms, restaurant and lobby. The ground floor of the property has been transformed with the implementation of the Holiday Inn Open Lobby Concept. This flexible space brings a sleek new look to the hotel, reflecting modern styles, and offering an environment where guests can eat, drink, work, meet, relax and socialise. all day dining with a focus on pure, simple honest food and international favourites, Ashburn creates a welcoming environment for guests to share great food and good wine with friends, family and colleagues alike. This refurbishment comes following the recent acquisition of Kensington Forum by Queensgate Investments LLP, and Patrick O’Connell, Head of Hotels for Queensgate Investments has commented, “Whilst we have long term plans to redevelop the hotel, and indeed have recently secured planning permission, this current refurbishment demonstrates our commitment to continuing to deliver

Hotel Indigo opens in one of Britain’s oldest cities ®

I

Hotelier & Hospitality Design

HG® (InterContinental Hotels Group) has announced the opening of its sixteenth Hotel Indigo® in the UK, in the heart of the notable city of Chester. Within walking distance to one of the oldest racecourses in Britain and numerous historical attractions, Hotel Indigo® Chester is the perfect choice for a weekend getaway.

8

Only a short drive from some the UK’s most vibrant cities, Manchester and Liverpool, Chester has become a popular destination for guests to enjoy a short break. Steeped in history, the city is home to sites that hold great historical significance, including the best surviving Roman Fortress Wall in Northern Europe, Britain’s largest Roman Amphitheatre, the oldest racecourse in Britain and a one-thousandyear-old cathedral with some of Europe’s finest examples of medieval carvings.Featuring 75 rooms, the much-awaited boutique Hotel Indigo Chester, combines elements from the city’s local character and charm, with vibrant colours and textures to give the hotel a residential look and feel. Just as no two places are alike, no two Hotel Indigo® properties are the same. The hotel’s design reflects the surrounding neighbourhood by drawing inspiration from three key elements of the city – the material layers of its architecture, the iconic 1897 Eastgate Clock and the world-famous Chester Racecourse.

True to the brand’s unique design credentials, Hotel Indigo Chester offers guests a selection of three individually designed room types that differ by floor. Each room type has its own narrative helping to tell the neighbourhood story: • The Racecourse Room nods to the Chester Racecourse (also known as Roodee) with cleverly hidden horse racing motifs dotted around the room to capture the essence of the racecourse and the traditional tack room and stable. Original horse-riding equipment such as bits and stirrup leathers have been used in the design, together with the iconic red circle winning post featured in the bedroom mirror. Betting odds can also be found printed on the side tables giving the room a fun but sophisticated look. • The Chester Rows Room is themed around the iconic buildings seen all over the city, featuring black and white timber panels, and ornate architectural detailing. Bespoke painted gold stenciling adorns the painted paneling and is echoed in the gold mesh wardrobe detail. • The Eastgate Clock Room is inspired by an iconic symbol of Chester, the Eastgate Clock. The design of the rooms plays with vibrant reds, soft jade and gold metals, while the geometry of the clock is simplified and imprinted in a subtle and interesting way throughout the room.

Hotel Openings & Refurbishments Bethan Johnston, General Manager, Hotel Indigo Chester, said: “At Hotel Indigo we believe in providing more than just a good night’s sleep, we want to create an experience as unique as the neighbourhood in which we are found. With our unique design and thoughtful touches inspired by the local history and surrounding influences, guests can get a flavour of the neighbourhood through our hotel before heading off to explore the city for themselves.” Karan Khanna, Managing Director, UK&I, IHG, said: “Hotel Indigo® is now in more than 100 different and vibrant neighbourhoods globally. Chester, with its rich history and reputation as one of Europe’s prettiest cities is the perfect fit for our newest opening and we look forward to opening our arms to guests from around the world as well as our local neighbours.” Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the hotel’s new fine dining restaurant Wood Chester, from award winning 2015 MasterChef champion Simon Wood. The design of the 96 cover restaurant nods to Simon’s signature style. Set in a relaxed environment to enjoy his unintimidating fine dining, it is the perfect new outlet for locals and hotel guests. At the heart of the restaurant is the chef’s table and theatre kitchen providing the perfect vista for guests to watch Simon and his team as they work. Evening diners can also sample Simon’s famous seven or ten course blind tasting menu, created with fresh seasonal produce. The restaurant also features a private dining room that accommodates up to ten people for a meeting or dinner. Breakfast at the hotel offers a variety of guests’ favourite dishes such as a full English, poached eggs and avocado on sourdough toast and pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup, all alongside an extensive continental buffet. Literally raising the roof:

At Hilton’s brand new Tower of London bar What do you do when you want to create the latest destination rooftop bar in London, but don’t want your vision to be hampered by the elements? You turn your outdoor bar into an indoor bar – or an indoor, outdoor bar, if you’re the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London – Tower of London. Jason Eastwood, Managing Director of Canopies UK, reveals how the sky really was the limit when it came to making sure guests can enjoy the iconic views of London from Hilton’s Savage Garden bar, whether it’s day or night, raining or sunny. Canopies UK were contacted by the hotel’s owner to help transform the former Sky Lounge site on the 12th floor into a 8,870 sq ft, 400 capacity lounge bar, including a feature bar, cocktail lounge, dining areas, private spaces, as well as two large outdoor north and south-facing terraces.

Hotelier & Hospitality Design

Essentially, the project involved making a real statement, which Canopies UK enabled the Hilton to do by helping the hotel make the most of every single square inch of space that was available to them – both inside and out.

16

“The north Wildside terrace is a dedicated events space that can be hired for private events and functions, such as weddings, and looks out over many of London’s landmarks, including Tower Bridge, The Gherkin and St Paul’s Cathedral,” explains Jason. “Being up on the roof, meant that the new bar, particularly the Wildside terrace, was at the mercy of the weather, so we were called upon to install one our Cantabria canopies, which features not one, but six retractable roofs that can be opened and closed independently of each other at the touch of a button. From a design perspective, it’s a real head-turning feature, and from a practical perspective, it enables the terrace

to be quickly and easily transformed from an al fresco summer hotspot into a winter events space for private hire and seasonal pop-ups.” In addition to the highly stylish and unique retractable waterproof roofs, the canopy also features integrated guttering, LED lighting, heating and a combination of fixed and vertical sliding glass screens that can be retracted in the finer weather and partially or fully closed in cooler, wetter and more changeable weather. Meanwhile, the overall structure has been painted grey so that it seamlessly blends in with the surroundings and the inside is white, which helps make the space feel bright and spacious.

A tall order Working at such a height – 12 storeys up meant that Canopies UK had to overcome several logistical and practical challenges in order to install the canopy, which spans 37 metres in length and stands at almost six metres tall. A total of 18 crane lifts were used to move the 20,000kg of materials that were needed to build the canopy, from the ground to the top floor within extremely tight parameters. Due to the site’s central London location, there was limited space for the materials on both the ground level and up on the roof. “Thanks to our careful planning and logistics and working closely with the hotel and other contractors, we were able to work around these space restrictions,” adds Jason.

Testing times Canopies UK also had to overcome several other challenges that really put their skills to the test during the four-month project, which included increasing the overall height of the 36 metre-long canopy so that it incorporated the terrace steps. This was achieved through a combination of clever design and joining systems and by creating a Perspex-filled arc feature. And because the building wasn’t totally square with the canopy, Canopies UK made a bespoke GRP system that linked the building and the system neatly together. While state-of-the-art Hilti scanning tools and bespoke structural calculations were used to fix the actual structure to the existing roof.

The sky’s the limit “Our extensive experience and tried-and-tested processes, particularly our site-specific calculations, all really came into play for this installation,” adds Jason.

“For instance, by scanning the concrete, we were able to create a bespoke fixing method that would cause minimal disruption to the structure. It’s innovative ways of working like this, that also meant the hotel was able to stay fully open and all nearby guest and conference rooms and bar areas could still be used as the Cantabria canopy took shape. “This project really does prove that the sky’s the limit when it comes to installing one of our canopy systems. We’re extremely proud of this installation, which is testimony to the fact it’s possible to transform your outdoor space into indoor space, no matter how tight space gets or how high up you may be!” The hotel’s General Manager, Bernadette Gilligan, said: “The canopy on Wildside has been flawlessly designed to accommodate events throughout the year. “Come rain or shine, guests can enjoy everything from drinks to private events in the space as the retractable canopy - designed and built as bespoke for Savage Garden – means that the terrace can be cosy and covered during winter, and the perfect suntrap come summer.”

Dar Jasmine boutique hotel Set at the foot of the Rif mountains is a hidden gem, Dar Jasmine boutique hotel. Designed by Award winning design team KAI Interiors.

T

he hotel began as a dream in owner, Yasmina Markouch’s mind when she began digging away to make way for the building that now stands proudly in Chefchaouen, Morocco. After hunting for the ideal designer she finally found KAI Interiors and they came on board to bring the hotel to reality. It was important to Yasmina that the design was led by traditional techniques and craftspeople from Morocco. It needed to be authentic but have a contemporary twist to it so it stands apart from the other hotels in the area. The build and fit out itself took a steady 4 years to complete, this was very much down to the pace of works in Morocco and the level of detail carried out within the interior. Each and every element is bespoke and hand crafted.

Hotelier & Hospitality Design

The initial concept grew from the history of the area and a

tale of a woman called Jasmine, who fell in love with a pilot who had crash landed in the Rif mountains. He then travelled the world planting Jasmine flowers everywhere he went as a reminder of his love. Today you can still find Jasmine flowers growing around the mountains and around the hotel grounds. Each of the bedrooms are inspired by the countries and places he visited. A beautiful combination of Australian influences and Moroccan merged to create one room, others include Vietnam, Africa, French Riviera and of course a Chefchaouen dedicated room amongst others. The main entrance stairwell is winding in and out of the landscape guiding you to your reward,

the breathtaking view of the city below. Aptly named the Blue Pearl of Morocco, all of the houses and building below are painted in different shades of blue. A magical place which has a real sense of calm. From the roof terrace you can turn your head to view the Rif mountains surrounding you. The perfect spot for Yoga, meditation, reading or painting. The hotel is due to start Yoga retreats soon and have a pool and Hammam being added soon.

The tea station bar is nestled in the corner allowing you to enjoy and explore many tea leaves on offer, mint being the go to option! The curved solid timber panelling on the front counter is carved by hand with palm leaves and stained to create a beautiful decorative display. The ceiling is scattered with handmade brass lanterns giving moody shadows onto the walls in the evenings.

Moving upstairs over the rich green marble floor the central staircase turns on itself circling a fantastic domed centre piece and glowing pendant lights suspended through two levels. The rooms each with their own character are cosy hideaways from the hustle and bustle of the markets in the centre of Chefchaouen. Luxurious, calming and comfortable spaces with a real sense of home. You feel like you have been transported to your perfect holiday location and with each room having so much character you might find you don’t want to leave it! Several of the bedrooms have their own private terrace for you to relax in with some tea and cake should the mood take you. Bespoke patterned cement tiles are scattered throughout the hotel as

well as all joinery being hand crafted from KAI Interiors drawings as well as lighting being hand made. Many of the accessories were sourced direct from the mountain tribes and were a key part of making each space feel authentic. The hotel is located within walking distance of the markets and small cafes ready to be explored as well as the Akchour waterfalls. With so many amazing views the area is popular with hikers. The Chace Hotel to rebrand Laura Ashley Hotel The Iliffe,

T

he Chace Hotel will rebrand as Laura Ashley Hotel The Iliffe, Coventry, from 29th July 2019, Laura Ashley Hotels has announced today.

Hotelier & Hospitality Design

The new boutique Laura Ashley Hotel is undergoing a thorough refurbishment which will bring it in line with Laura Ashley brand standards. The elegant new interiors will showcase the Laura Ashley Home range and its exquisite, high-quality inherently British fabrics and furnishings throughout.

20

Every part of the hotel has been redesigned drawing inspiration from the hotel’s Victorian heritage with carefully selected rich colours which complement each other and luxurious furnishings to create an elegant space to entice comfort & relaxation. Speaking on the hotel’s redesign, Kay Cullen, Commercial Designer for Laura Ashley, said:

The Chace Hotel is a stunning example of Victorian architecture surrounded by three acres of attractive landscaped gardens. The new design takes inspiration from the grand sweeping staircase, leading upstairs to the new beautifully designed Laura Ashley bedrooms, which evokes the splendour of the past in what would have been a grand country house.

“I was charmed by the beautiful building which once a grand manor house of late Victorian origin. The beautiful sweeping staircase takes you on a journey through the owner’s past with a portrait of the glamorous lady Mary Ann Soden as a debutante in the mid eighteen hundreds. To pay homage to the decadence this image portrays I decided to bring back a sense of the past and to embrace the beautiful detail within this magnificent old building.”

The land, which the property is located on, boasts a colourful history dating back to 1257 and was once owned by King Henry VIII. Laura Ashley Hotel The Iliffe, Coventry is named after the family the property was constructed for the in the late 1890s, Dr Charles Webb Iliffe, a well-respected figure in the local medical community, and his wife, a young debutante, Mary Ann Soden.

The boutique hotel’s 17 superior and deluxe Laura Ashley bedrooms have been designed to infuse a sense of tranquillity with an effortless style. Classic Laura Ashley design adorns every surface, from plush cushions, to Laura Ashley Glenmore chairs in marine velvet, floor-to-ceiling drapes to statement lighting and stylish Laura Ashley Constellation Champagne and Gold Constance Mirrors.

Classic leather Hudson button back sofas add a touch of luxury and are a nod to the gentleman’s library that would have been cherished in a grand house by the Iliffe family. While a bespoke bookshelf separates the bar from the lounge space, with a secret pocket door which opens to connect both spaces when required. In the main restaurant there is a hand painted mural to reflect the surrounding grounds and to add a little country manor house romance to the space. Laura Ashley Hotel The Iliffe, Coventry will be only the second Laura Ashley branded hotel. The portfolio, which also includes The Belsfield Hotel, Windermere, and is soon to include Burnham Beeches Hotel in Buckinghamshire, aims to offer guests an authentic home from home experience against the backdrop of the Laura Ashley Home range in characterful properties in the UK. The hotel is already home to the Laura Ashley The Tea Room which opened in October 2018.

Hotel Indigo Leicester square: A night in at the Theatre!

Hotelier & Hospitality Design

Glitz and glamour is something you do not necessarily associate with a Hotel.

22

Well, In the case of Hotel Indigo it has both in abundance. With a 1920’s theme based around its location (London’s infamous West End) when you walk towards the gold reception you know you are in the heart of the action and feel as if you are backstage awaiting your grand entrance. The staff at the front desk are extremely welcoming and on hand for your every need. As you take the lift to your room you will notice the incredible décor throughout and attention to detail paid to keep in touch with its west end theme. With many pieces of artwork from years gone by with well-known stage actors performing across the historic theatres in the capital. There is certainly no hotel I have stayed in with this unique atmosphere throughout the whole building. The room itself was fantastic with a dressing table fit for a stage star! The bed overlooked Leicester square and I must

admit there is no better sight when the evening arrives. With complimentary coffee and tea the room also has a quirky rotary dial telephone which is in keeping with the hotels 20’s theme. To get the best view you must enjoy what the rooftop bar has to offer. With a choice of delicious cocktails and snacks it really is the most picturesque view from the balcony overlooking the city with amazing views of the London eye too. To feel so close to the action but also have complete privacy is incredible. After an evening out we did not hear a sound and the bed provided a very comfortable sleep. It is most certainly a hotel I cannot wait to visit again. Next time you are visiting a show in London’s prestigious West end I highly recommend starting off at Hotel Indigo. This will get in the mood for a night at the theatre.

Clean carpets are the business Cleanliness can have a big impact on business, but in the hospitality industry it can really make the difference between success and failure.

Research carried out by P&G Professional* in partnership with hotel search site, Trivago, found that a high rating for hotel cleanliness is likely to raise the overall rating of a hotel, positively impacting on booking numbers. It works the other round way too. Bad reviews can send your customers off somewhere else, so cleanliness is crucial A hospitality facility needs to maintain high standards to succeed, so it will come as no surprise then, that long term cleaning performance is a top priority for the design team at SEBO. SEBO machines are designed to give excellent performance day after day and year after year. Of course, excellent performance means nothing if the vacuum cleaner releases dust back out again, whether in use, or when emptied. SEBO use highly effective

electrostatic filters, combined with sealable, high filtration, dust bags, to ensure dirt is safely and hygienically locked away. Preventing dust being recirculated back into the indoor air not only prevents dust settling back onto fixtures and fittings, it is of vital importance if guests or staff suffer with allergies. Hot on the trail of cleaning efficiency comes good ergonomics. A good vacuum cleaner needs to be able to clean different floor types and do its job quickly and efficiently, with minimal effort for the user. That’s why we make different machines for different commercial environments. While the zippy, super-flexible Dart is idea for smaller spaces with lots of furniture, our XP range of machines makes light work of larger areas, and comes in three different widths all with automatic height adjustment. Durability is absolutely crucial too. A professional machine might not always receive the same level of TLC as its more pampered domestic counterpart, so we’ve designed our machines to be robust and simple to maintain, all without

impacting usability and overall performance. Cost effective parts and modular construction mean SEBO professional machines are not only economical, but easy to keep working too. In simple terms, they’re engineered to last. Justin Binks is Director at SEBO UK Ltd www.sebo.co.uk www.pgpro.co.uk

Dining goes

digital

5 reasons to update your restaurant EPOS software Hotelier & Hospitality Design

By Luis De Souza, CEO of NFS Technology Group

28

Consumers have recently become aware of dramatic changes in the world of retail and the way they shop – but many haven’t even noticed that a massive upheaval is also going on in the restaurant world. Because today, digital dining is working for customers right throughout the day – even if they don’t realise it. Technology is working hand in hand with hungry people 24/7, from kiosk self-ordering at their breakfast outlet to speeding up lunch service and then ordering dinner online.

Restaurant EPOS software has been transforming the way food outlets engage with their customers for a while; can you remember a time when you didn’t see Deliveroo drivers whizzing by?

transformation of the restaurant industry is having huge benefits for both outlets and customers.

So why should you update your restaurant But it’s a quiet revolution. And unlike EPOS software? retail transformation, which is causing disruption in the high street, the digital

I’ve picked out 5 reasons why you need to implement restaurant EPOS software if you haven’t already done so, and keep your system up to date. 1. Customer service gets a huge boost 2. You can control labour better 3. Stock and waste are kept under control 4. The risk of allergens is reduced 5. Customer loyalty is promoted.

Customer service gets a huge boost Keeping your restaurant EPOS software in tip-top condition puts a shine on your customer service in a number of ways. It becomes easier for customers to find your restaurant and book a table online, via apps such as OpenTable, or to place an order for delivery. Once at your restaurant, the restaurant EPOS software provides graphic seating plans so they are seated more quickly. They can then self-order on tablets, or serving staff take the order on handheld technology; either way, it’s sent directly to the kitchen. There, it can be integrated with kitchen automation, and the meal arrives swiftly and accurately.

Payment is also taken tableside, so the whole dining experience is incredibly seamless and satisfying.

You can control labour better Finding staff and rostering them effectively is always an issue in the industry, and even more so now that Brexit is reducing the labour pool – it’s estimated that over 300,000 hospitality workers are considering leaving the UK. Restaurant EPOS software can’t find you skilled staff, but it can provide detailed reports that show exactly what levels of staffing is needed at what times. The technology also reduces tasks such as running back and forth to the kitchen with orders, which not only saves staff time but gives them more opportunity to engage with customers. In casual or fast outlets, self-service kiosks integrated with the digital system are a popular choice for customers who need to order, pick up and go. Once again, the customer experience is effortless, while staff time is used to its maximum value.

Stock and waste are kept under control The data capture facilities in restaurant management technology not only makes sure stock levels correlate with what’s selling, but also provide accurate forecasts to help support your procurement decisions. In these days of environmental awareness (and spiralling costs) it’s good to know waste can be kept to a minimum.

The risk of allergens is reduced This is an extraordinarily hot topic at the moment, because of several tragic food allergy-related deaths. In recognition of the heavy burden of responsibility on chefs designing dishes, Aloha restaurant EPOS

software now includes chef-designed Kitchen CUT software that tracks ingredients and potential allergens through every dish. It also gives chefs complete control over costs while creating their menus.

Customer loyalty is promoted A great experience will often bring customers back again and again, but restaurant management technology strengthens your engagement with diners. By capturing information about their preferences, it enables you to create tailored offers that are highly likely to appeal to them and build repeat business. In addition, the software helps your restaurant monitor its social media reputation, even alerting managers to adverse reviews so they can be addressed immediately.

How should you choose a supplier for your restaurant EPOS software? Consider what you want to achieve with your system, and how you’d like your want your staff to use it; ask yourself what sort of reports will help you run your business better. Potential suppliers should be able to talk to you about restaurants they already supply – and don’t forget to ask for references. To keep costs low, ask if the supplier offers an affordable rental option. As dining becomes increasingly digital, investing in restaurant management software (or updating the system you already have) is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. So take your time and be sure to seek expert opinion; the benefits of making a wise choice are immense.

Andaz Liverpool Street

There really is no other hotel that compares to The Andaz.

As you arrive you will be welcomed by the fantastic staff who will check you in and offer you a glass of bubbly whilst you wait. You can either be checked in at the main desk or via the glowing IPad’s in the lobby. I must say this is a very relaxed and enjoyable start to your visit. You will be taken back by the sheer size of this Hotel. This grade II listed building was originally built in 1884 and perfectly differs from the exquisitely old fashioned high ceilings, grand room space, mosaic flooring and marble staircases to ultra-modern style throughout the entire hotel. The building is made up of two wings (East & west) this gives you an idea of just how extravagant this spacious London hotel is. Something that is not usually the case in the city.

There are over 200 rooms within the hotel which are generously spacious and stylish. The bathroom and wash area boost a beautiful décor. All of our rooms feature a Nespresso™ coffee machine, complimentary mini bar and Wi-Fi, a smart TV, luxurious Yukata robes and bath amenities from British skincare brand REN. The Andaz Liverpool Street really does cater for all of your dining needs with a variety of options. The 1901 breakfast restaurant which is a stunning grade II listed ballroom with a beautiful glass domed ceiling there is so much on offer to start your day off the right way. Rake’s café Bar offers the perfect “chill” environment if you would like tasty snacks and a array of crafted cocktails throughout the day.

These are two of the four options which also include the Miyako Japanese restaurant (make sure You book in advance due to high demand) and the Lady Abercorn’s pub and kitchen.

To accompany the relaxed vibe of rake’s there is also the Eastway brasserie which is the perfect setting for a group of friends to enjoy sharing platters and the ultimate calm dining experience.

It is hard to put into words just how uniquely amazing a stay at The Andaz is. With also the capacity for corporate functions, Freemason gatherings and also weddings it really is a sight to behold.

Hotelier & Hospitality Design

Located perfectly next to Liverpool street station you will amazed by the not only elegance, space and history of this luxury hotel but also the fine attention to details paid to each area and moment of your stay.

One of the most recent projects undertaken by Milk is a bespoke sauna and steam room installation at Broughton Hall Estate, creating the design and fabrication of a truly unique project. From an initial customer brief we delivered the design concept through to detailed production and fabrication drawings, material sourcing and fabrication. All in-house processes that led to the creation of a truly unique thermal experience. The sauna created for this installation was manufactured within Milks workshop and was created as a result of the complicated assembly of laminated timber elements. These elements were then CNC’d to form the 148 individual components required to form this unique sauna cabin. The prime grade Hemlock Timber used for this installation was sealed and protected against the rigors of operation by applying 3 coats of Supi Sauna Wax, a product by Tikkurila. A Milk designed circular feature ceiling light was installed mirroring the corporate image of the wellness facility, casting a wonderful light across the curved interior of this sauna. The fluid interior space is complimented by the installation of a Harvia Globe sauna heater. The steam room installation was created in partnership with Wedi Systems UK Ltd, made up of 28 individually formed segments, these were bonded together, sealed and vapour-proofed, ensuring a durable substrate for the Christian Botteganove mosaic tiling. As ever for Milk these mosaics were installed by the uniquely talented Sharon Taylor of Viva Tiling. The hand crafted ceiling light to match that of the sauna but to cater for the specific thermal requirements of the steam cabin, again reflecting the Avalons corporate symbol, compliments the lustrous lines of the steam room interior and that of the sauna heater.

“Milk are exceptionally proud of this installation, it’s a very real reflection of our design and manufacturing ambitions and the inhouse artisan skills we can bring to bear”.

ADA teams up with iconic beauty brand kai to launch new luxury hotel collection Celebrities as diverse as Sarah Jessica Parker, Oprah Winfrey and Pink have one thing in common: They all are fans of kai – the iconic Californian beauty line with its fresh, easygoing appeal and its subtly tropical nature. Taking inspiration from Hawaii and its exotic flora, Gaye Straza created the kai brand. Now, ADA International is launching a new hotel collection with this VIP fragrance in exclusive hotel bathrooms.

G

aye Straza characterizes her fragrance kai Signature as “vacation, bottled” while being equally evocative of home comforts. kai is one of the most successful body care lines in the United States – beguiling style icons such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Aniston. And, for her million-strong audience, even Oprah Winfrey put kai at the top of her “Favorite Things” list. Aloha for hotel guests The success story continues: Beauty-entrepreneur Gaye Straza now has selected one of the leading manufacturers of hotel cosmetics – ADA International – as her business partner. “We are always on the look-out for extraordinary brands that distinguish themselves from everyday selections. With kai, hotels bestow upon their guests that certain sumptuous vacation-and-lifestyle aura in their bathrooms,” says Sylvia Jensch, ADA’s CMO. Brands such as Bvlgari, Chopard and Penhaligon’s attest to the company’s sure flair for beauty trends and modern product innovation. The Collection

The kai Signature hotel collection is now available. The fragrance of exotic white flowers and fresh, green accents exudes a casual and carefree lifestyle – like a run along Malibu’s breezy beach. The top note is the intoxicating scent of gardenia wrapped in delicate accents of jasmine and tuberose. Gaye was inspired by the lush, tropical plants of Hawaii, where she spent vacations during

her youth. The collection’s design complements its essence by blending elements of relaxation and elegance at the same time. The frosted, white bottles with their practical flip-tops have a fresh look that conveys the timeless chic of the scent itself. The collection comprises bath & shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hand & body lotion in 25-, 40- and 60-ml bottles. The bottles are completely recyclable. 25-, 42- and 60-g soap bars round off the series. Several of these products also are available in the modern, economical and environmentally friendly dispenser system SmartCare, as well as in 300-ml pump dispensers.
