STAY GUYS Guys are installed to balance line tensions and are therefore appropriate where lines begin, end, or where lines change direction. Most installations utilize down guys, wherein the guy wire is led away from the pole at a 45 degree angle down to an anchor. Head guys will be provided at heavily loaded corners to reduce tension in a corner span and strain on the corner pole. Dead-end guys will be provided in long straight lines

CUTOUT FUSE & SWITCH Medium-voltage fuses and cutouts shall comply with NEMA SG 2 and shall be of the open type construction rated 15 kV and of the ultra-heavy duty type

CUTOUT FUSE

FUSE LINK & KNIF SWITCH

Lightning Performance and Grounding All transmission structures will be individually grounded through a dedicated earth driven grounding system composed of ground rods and / or buried counterpoise. The maximum acceptable resistance measurement of this grounding system is 25 Ohms. These resistance requirements are to assure acceptable lightning performance on the line as well as provide for the safe grounding of the line by construction and maintenance forces. To assure acceptable lightning performance, a limited application of transmission lines arresters will be utilized.
