SINGLE RESIDENTIAL

An existing single storey fibro dwelling with a detached garage was demolished to make way for a grand new residence, defined by spacious proportions and abundant accommodation, an in-ground swimming pool and a cabana within the beautifully landscaped rear garden.

This luxurious family home was designed with a free-flowing open-plan living in mind and state-of-the-art finishes throughout. Only the highest quality of finishes and detailing was used, and it looks absolutely beautiful inside as it does outside.

This existing single storey Californian bungalow project involves the demolition of the rear ground floor for a new and extended footprint and a second storey addition. This 5-bedroom home is being upgraded internally and has been designed with an open layout to allow for greater flow between the internal and external entertainment areas.

A traditional feel of the home externally has been maintained, while a modern internal design approach was seen as being the ideal solution to provide a juxtaposition between the existing neighbourhood character and a subtle transition in architectural quality for this residentially zoned area.

SMITH RESIDENCE

1 Woodland Ave Thirroul New residence Cost: $1.75m

With uninterupted views overlooking Thirroul Beach, this dreamy location and site called for an open-plan layout to the living and entertaining areas. Careful selection of materials was required given the nature of the seaside setting.

MULTI RESIDENTIAL

This beautiful heritage-listed building was a former Commonwealth Bank. The significance of the site is identified as being: “Good example of an Inter-War, Art Deco/International style, commercial building. Essentially unaltered. Local significance.”

The design choices were made to be sympathetic to the history of the site. The ground level has been converted into retail shops, Level 1 into commercial offices, while Levels 2 & 3 are 9x boutique high-end residential apartments.

This was a knock-down and rebuild project in the heart of Mascot.

A site with 2 former houses were converted into a 5-storey 20-unit residential apartments and 3x commercial/retail shops on Ground level.

HERITAGE & CHILDCARE

Tarella demonstrates historic, aesthetic and associative values at State and Local levels of importance. The building is particularly associated Sir Joseph Palmer Abbott, former Speaker of the NSW Legislative Assembly and the nineteenth and twentieth century European development of Cammeray.

This project involved the proposed change of use from a former residence to a childcare centre. Painstaking levels of hard work were put in to restore the building into its original state and upgrading it into compliance with current codes and regulations.

EXAMPLES OF CURRENT WORK

At present, I am involved with alterations and additions to single residences of varying complexities: from simple extensions, to additions of a secondary dwelling, and second-storey additions to a knock-down rebuild, and including interior design work.

Not all projects are shown. Some works are currently in Sketch Phase, or before Council (DA Phase), or in Construction Certificate Phase (CC), or about to commence construction.

In the 6 years during my employment with Innovate Architects, 2014-2020, I have had the honour of working with some of the most professional consultants, fantastic builders, external interior designers, and suppliers of materials and finishes.

The following pages show some of the work that I have worked on, at various stages, alongside other members of the then team, completed between 2014 & 2019.

I am always adding to my network new consultants, builders and other members of the design and construction industry, to allow me to deliver the best quality design for my valued clients.
