The energystore superbead system is an injected expanded polystyrene (EPS) bead bonded with an adhesive designed for use in multiple cavity wall scenarios including Masonry, Party Wall and Timber Frame.

The system has been patented (Patent no.EP4079990) for use underneath Beam + Block floors.

NO SLUMP IN TRANSIT

The environmental impact of energystore superbead’s manufacture, transport and installation has been independently assessed by Sustainable Homes - Lifecycle Assessment.

76% of superbead emissions are from raw material processing. This is equal to 31kg of carbon emissions for each 12kg cube of EPS produced.

5 Months of Payback Time. 5 2% Raw Material Transport of emissions are from raw material transport. The transportation of each 12kg cube of EPS results in 0.9kg carbon emissions on average.

After installation in an average 3-bed home it takes approximately 5 months for superbead to save as much carbon as is released during production and transport.

17% Manufacturing Process of emissions are from manufacturing in energystore’s factories, or 7.1kg carbon emissions per cube.

5% superbead Installation of emissions are from distribution of the superbead product for installation. This results in 2.1kg carbon per cube.

Bridging Calculations

Ψ (psi) values are becoming increasingly important in meeting compliance with building regulations. In modern buildings junction heat loss can account for up to 30% of total heat loss.

The energystore technical team can produce project-specific 3D thermal modelling in accordance with BR 497, producing accurate Ψ values which can lead to enhanced thermal performance of junction details and greater flexibility in meeting building regulation’s energy efficiency requirements.

energystore offer a range of certified CPD and factory tours to help support architects in meeting their annual CPD requirements. Our CPD courses focus on the principles of good-quality insulation and common on-site pitfalls that can reduce insulation effectiveness.
