The demand for space, the needs of many users, the ever-increasing mobility innovations. But it’s not just mobility. The street is ground zero for vibrant urban life. Small business, community connection and celebration.

With our network of councils, land authorities and innovators, we will be constructing scenarios of what the future of the street might be.

Join us as we explore the ways in which digital and data can help shape life in this important public space.

THE ROLE OF THE STREET The street is a place of great purpose.

They are highly congested and contested.

Multiple levels of governance and ownership.

Multiple competing interests, vying for space and opportunity.

We use them everyday - for moving around, shopping for essential goods, accessing daily services. Streets are also the arteries for our major utilities - electricity, water, digital

connectivity. They need to be operational and function all hours of the day, and night.

Our streets must also cater for all ages and abilities - they must not discriminate.

From prams and wheelchairs, to e-scooters and footpath dining. From parklets and protests, to advertising and 5G connectivity infrastructure. The street never sleeps.

WHAT WILL STREET LAB DO? Streets are one of the most dynamic public spaces in our cities and towns, and for more than 20 years ENE.HUB has been designing and deploying infrastructure in these critically important places.

We have responded to the conditions of the day. Catered to the needs of public authorities, urban designers and place makers alike, and we now design and deliver some of the most sought after public place infrastructure.

However, what if we were to anticipate changes in the street, and the public realm? Help shape what’s next, or what might be coming?

With Street Lab ENE.HUB will work with it’s

existing customers, innovation partners and supporting stakeholders to create scenarios of the future for our streets.

We will do this through a series of discovery sessions in the coming year, working with multiple disciplines and departments.

As we identify issues and opportunities through the discovery sessions, we will openly share our ideas and test promising opportunities.

We look forward to advancing this exciting initiative and are excited by what might be possible in our streets of the future.
