Yet more Sheffielders are expected to take to two wheels in January, say Sheffield’s cycling professionals, Pedal Ready, but every local cyclist should make it their New Year resolution to get skilled up first. “If you’ve got a new bike for Christmas, or if you fancy improving your health and saving a fortune by riding more often in 2013, why not give us a call so you can make sure you’re a skilled up urban cycle commuter?” said Gareth Nicholas, from Pedal Ready.

their cycle commuting courses, so we can teach you the latest advanced cycling skills, which will make you at least three times less likely to have an injury when you ride to work, college or school.” Nearly 2,000 cyclists of all kinds have taken part in Pedal Ready’s sessions so far, from born again bikers wanting to improve their cycling confidence to regular long distance commuters who want the latest hazard avoidance techniques.
