Christophe Hesbert, Chief Technical Operations Officer
At EMS Healthcare, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles are more than corporate responsibilities - they are fundamental to how we operate, innovate, and support the communities we serve. Our ESG objectives guide every aspect of our business, reflecting our longterm commitment to sustainable growth, ethical leadership, and meaningful social impact. Driving Environmental Responsibility Decarbonising our operations is a central pillar of our sustainability strategy.
We are actively reducing emissions across our mobile fleet, including the integration of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel and the widespread installation of solar panels - both at
our Head Office and across the majority of our fleet. In parallel, we’ve introduced a salary sacrifice scheme to encourage uptake of electric vehicles among employees, supporting lower-emission commuting and lifestyle choices. These initiatives reflect our organisation-wide commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible resource management.
Our mobile clinical research facilities and community outreach programmes play a vital role in supporting the NHS and addressing healthcare access inequalities. By helping reduce treatment and diagnostic backlogs and bringing essential health services directly into underserved and remote communities, we are making clinical research and care more accessible and inclusive. These efforts help to remove longstanding barriers to healthcare and increase participation in vital research, especially among historically underrepresented groups.
We are committed to ensuring high standards of governance across our operations and supply chain. Our ongoing partnership with EcoVadis supports independent benchmarking of our ESG performance, helping us track progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and enhance transparency. This commitment to continual improvement underpins our efforts to align with global ESG best practices.
This report is not only a reflection of what we’ve achieved, but a statement of intent for the future. We believe that sustainable, equitable, and accountable healthcare delivery is essentialand we are proud to lead by example. At EMS Healthcare, we know that real progress begins with action, and we remain dedicated to making a lasting, positive impact across every area of our business.
“Our ESG principles guide every decision we make - ensuring that innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility go hand in hand as we create a future where good health is within everyone’s reach.”
