FUN TIMES AND MORE

Your Virtual Superheroes, I mean the team’s get together started with an all time fan favorite and a very trending movie Thor: Love and Thunder. It was a 2 hour high energy film brimming with good vibes and heart, laughter, great plots and amazement. The movie was very fun to watch as it is more on the comedic genre rather than the usual marvel films which are more on the action side. After the movie, the team proceeded to a Photoshop Studio to take momentous team photos to be used on the company's future magazines, websites, newsletters and of course, to keep these precious memories alive by photographs. It was a delightful moment as the team members were all laughing, joking around, and helping each other out, resembling a one happy family.

Afterwards, the team went ahead and ate dinner at an Unlimited Grill and Shabu Shabu restaurant and of course, we must finish it off with a korean ice cream! To end a very fun day, the team members went to a coffee shop with a very aesthetically pleasing and relaxing ambiance to have coffees, take fun photos, and chit-chat a bit more before going home. By their very nature, entrepreneurs are usually pioneers. How do you relate to this when you started your business? When I started my business, I really wanted to reach more people and help them improve the state of their health. Although I love treating individual patients, I felt that I could reach more people through my online work. In a way, that is pioneering in healthcare and medicine. The traditional model of seeing individual patients is the bread and butter of healthcare. But if we can look at other ways to reach our patients, to reach the population, to improve health, then we should do just that. Increasing access to health information and healthcare online is in fact increasing access to healthcare. And since I am interested in serving the underserved, and increasing access to healthcare and health information, I felt that creating my online health platform was the best, practical, sensible, efficient, and most reasonable way to go. I need to reach more people, and I can do this at DrNicolleMD.com.

I learned that I have a lot to learn. Traditional medical training does not teach the business of medicine, so you learn as you go. And in this new day and age of the expansive use of the Internet (especially during the COVID pandemic), e-learning, along with your traditional brick and mortar businesses, it has been quite the journey. I continue to learn more ways to reach my target audience, to provide the most trustworthy and helpful information when they need it, and to just be a credible resource for those that are interested in improving their health.


Pioneering success: talk about your strategies and how you achieved it or how you are achieving it. One strategy that I find very helpful is dedicating a certain amount of time every day to my business. I work a full-time job, and I also have my own business. So I make sure I spend about one to two hours a day just on my business. I find that very helpful in keeping up with my business needs.

What is your message to everyone just starting their own business?

When you start your own business, find a mentor, use your resources wisely, and just be patient. Entrepreneurship is very rewarding, but it’s also a journey and not a sprint. Just be open to the process of being a student for life. You will continue to learn, and that is OK. Even though I am a double board certified Family Medicine and preventive medicine physician, I know that I have a lot more to learn in business, about myself (because entrepreneurship stretches you in ways that you’ve never been stretched before), and I am absolutely open to this process. I am a “Student Forever.” Anyone can do it, you just have to be dedicated to your vision. Please, be open to the process and don’t give up.

You can expect more health and wellness courses. I have a particular interest in combating chronic diseases, so I will focus a lot of my teachings on the common chronic diseases that lead to 70-80% mortality in the United States. Some chronic diseases include high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer, just to name a few. These are lifestyle diseases that require lifestyle treatments. Lifestyle treatments are the best way to combat lifestyle diseases, and it is my goal to increase awareness, provide education, and just provide hope to people who think that they are destined to live with certain chronic diseases that can, many times and in many ways, be reversed and/or prevented. You can also expect my new health supplement store coming soon. It is my goal to provide professional nutritional supplements to also assist individuals in reaching their health goals. I have found that supplementation can be very helpful for people who are unable to get the nutrients they need in the current food supply. We are a nutrient-deficient society, and much of that is because our current food supply is grown from depleted soils and toxic agricultural practices. Hello! I’m Dr. Nicolle Martin. I’m from Chicago and moved to Atlanta to attend Spelman College, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology Pre-Medicine. I earned my Medical Degree from Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM). I went on to complete a preventive medicine residency at MSM, and a family medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine, where I served as Chief Resident. Additionally, I received my Master’s in Public Health degree in Health Administration and Policy from MSM. I am a nationally recognized author, speaker, researcher, and consultant. I have found fulfillment in my career as an Assistant Professor and Medical Director. Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition? I am a double board-certified Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine Physician. The passing of my father motivated me to pivot my medical practice. My clinical approach to medicine is different from traditional medicine. I’m interested in restoring health, not just managing disease, so I take a specialized, 5-step approach to better health. I focus on the following: 1) your basic healthcare needs; 2) diet; 3) physical activity; 4) mindbody therapies; 5) and your environment. I welcome the opportunity to work with patients and clients who use preventive and integrative therapies and lifestyle change to minimize the use of medications and maximize health.

Since success is so personal, the definition should be based on your own values, and not based on the values and opinions of others. What do you value? Do you value relationships? Education? Money? Freedom? For me, success can be more of a journey, path, or pursuit. That journey can involve the learning and growth that leads to being “successful.” For example, if I think that making $10M in one year makes me “successful,” I will embark on a journey to take me there, and it must include my values. Good communication skills are vital. Miscommunication can easily happen, and many things can get lost in translation. Being able to communicate your thoughts, tactfully, and diplomatically are so important.

Lean on others for help in a new area of expertise. When a client asks you to do something that you do not fully-equipped to carry out, find online resources or lean on a coworker for assistance. It’s also great to learn a new skill.

You will have to learn to deal with demanding clients. You have to learn from these difficult situations. Be thankful for these challenges because they will help you become better at your job. Focus on selfimprovement.

I'm grateful that I have this kind of job, so no matter how mundane or seemingly uneventful your day at home might become, you still remember its value and why you set yourself on this path in the first place.
