1) Read Matthew 4:18-22. What did Jesus invite the brothers to do? How was Jesus bringing kingdom purpose into their lives?

2) What did the brothers do in response to the invitation? How did their belief fuel their action?

3) Read 1 Timothy 3:16. Disciples need to be equipped and prepared. How can we be equipped by Jesus today?

4) Read Luke 9:23-24. What does it mean to take up your cross and follow Jesus? Where have you had to take up your cross? How did it impact your life?

3) Read James 4:8-10 (NLT). Pastor Nate taught, “humility doesn't equal weakness, but equals closeness”. What are some ways we can show humility towards God?

4) Read 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 and Ephesians 6:12 (NLT). Our challenges in this life can many times be spiritual. What are some of the “spiritual weapons” at our disposal?

5) We need to have eyes to see life from an eternal perspective, be close to the Lord and be aware of the spiritual battles around us. What do you think are the benefits of living out our faith in this way?
