Introduction

IN- TUNE is a sermon series purposed to teach us the importance of tuning our hearts back to God!

Through this series, we believe that we will grow in our understanding of worship and how to stay "IN-SYNC" with God.

Read aloud and discuss these questions in your group:

1) What was your favorite song growing up? Why was the song your favorite?

2) God is looking for people to worship Him in spirit and in truth! What do you think it means to worship God in this way?

3) Getting in-tune with God requires trusting Him. Why might some people have a hard time trusting God?

4) Confession allows us to acknowledge the areas of our lives that are not in-tune with God. What are some of the other benefits of confession? Why might those benefits be important?

5) We need God to transform our perspective! Why is it at times hard to let God transform our perspective?

Consider what you may need to do to tune your heart towards God.

Find moments this week to humble yourself before the God, give Him access to your heart, confess to Him all your challenges & struggles, and allow Him to transform your perspective.

1) Describe a time when a parent or parental figure felt proud of you. What did you do to make them feel proud?

2) The Bible encourages us to live lives that are “holy and pleasing” to God. What do you think it means to live a holy and pleasing life for God?

3) There is protection in God’s presence! How do you think God protects each day?

4) Pastor Nate encouraged us to “talk with God instead of talking about God”. What are some notable differences between the two?

5) Have you ever felt God leading you to pray, worship, or read the Bible? Why might God lead us to do things like these?

6) What could be some benefits of surrendering our heart to the Lord and being in his presence?

1) How did you handle challenges when you were a kid? Did you Fight, Flight, or Freeze and why?

2) Does worship seem like a reasonable response when faced with crisis ? Why or why not?

3) What do you think it means for the “battle to belong to the Lord”? Why might this be important?

4) Worshiping God gave God’s people the victory! How might worship help us during our own moments of challenge?

5) When we worship God we can experience breakthrough in our circumstances and inner life. With this in mind, how important do you think worship is to the lives of Christians? Why might it be important?

1) What is the longest or toughest hike you’ve ever made? Share with the group.

2) What does the Psalmist emphasize in verses 1-2? Why is this relevant for the question the Psalmist asks in verse 3?

3) Pastor Nate shared three Qualification for Praisers: clean hands, pure heart, and trusting no one but God as their source. Which one do you think is the most difficult?And, why might it be the most difficult?

4) What are the benefits of praise?

5) How can you add praise to your every day life this week?

Add praise to your days. Try one of these ideas: sing a worship song in the morning and notice how it impacts your day.

When you are someone has a bad attitude, try “attitude check” and respond “Praise the Lord.”
