This tour takes you through the heart of Sri Lanka on a journey that reveals the rich cultural heritage. This fascinating tour takes you to three World Heritage Sites including Dambulla Cave Temple, Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Temple of the Tooth.
Day 1: Colombo – Kandy (115 kilometres) Arrive in Colombo and transfer to Kandy, the second largest city in the country and the last capital of the ancient king’s era of Sri Lanka. In the afternoon, explore the city with a guided tour including a visit to The Temple of the Tooth of Lord Buddha, a World Heritage Site.
Day 1: Colombo Arrive in Colombo. This afternoon, embark on a tour of the city with time for shopping. Day 2: Colombo – Dambulla (160 kilometres) Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to watch the entire herd bathing in the river. After the visit, proceed to Dambulla.
Day 2: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (80 kilometres) Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens with its rare collection of exotic flora. Thereafter, proceed to Nuwara Eliya, a mountain station with picturesque green landscape and breathtaking views of valleys, meadows and mountains. Visit a tea plantation. Nuwara Eliya is the tea production area that has made the Ceylon tea famous worldwide.
Day 3: Dambulla Join a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park renowned for its outstanding scenic beauty and large herds of elephants. This afternoon, enjoy an elephant back safari at Habarana.
Day 3: Nuwara Eliya – Colombo (165 kilometres) Proceed to Sri Lanka’s capital city. A large natural harbour and strategic location has made Colombo a thriving spice port on ancient sea trade routes. Join a tour to explore the hidden gems of this dynamic city.
Day 5: Nuwara Eliya Visit a tea plantation and factory to learn the art behind this globally recognised drink.
Day 4: Colombo Proceed to the airport for your departure flight.
Day 4: Dambulla – Nuwara Eliya (155 kilometres) Drive to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort and the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country.
Day 6: Nuwara Eliya – Colombo (165 kilometres) Proceed to Colombo with a stop en route to stroll through the fields of a strawberry farm. Day 7: Colombo Proceed to the airport for your departure flight.
Day 1: Colombo – Dambulla (160 kilometres) Arrive in Colombo and proceed to Dambulla. Visit Dambulla Cave Temple; the largest and bestpreserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The caves contain statues and paintings related to Lord Buddha and his life. Day 2: Dambulla This morning, climb the 5th century Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which is a citadel of unusual beauty built on top of this magnificent stand-alone rock. Day 3: Dambulla – Kandy (80 kilometres) Drive to Kandy, en route visit a Spice Garden to learn the many benefits of this natural produce. In the afternoon tour the city and visit a gem factory, a handicraft centre, a batik factory followed by a visit to The Temple of the Tooth of Lord Buddha. Day 4: Kandy – Colombo (115 kilometres) Depart for Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital city. Before you check-in at your hotel, complete the trip with a city tour of Colombo. Day 5: Colombo Proceed to the airport for your departure flight.
