TheHeartofMaffittReservoir
MaffittReservoirislocatedinDesMoines,Iowa.Itis oneofthemanyreservoirstheareahas.Maffitt’s centraluseisasawaterreservoirduringdroughts. Currently,therehavebeenseveralprojectsplanned butneverfinished.ThesiteisahiddengeminDes Moinesandisstartingtogainattractionassuburbsare builtaroundit.
ThisstudioprojectinLA603isfocusedonchildren’s environmentsandmasterplanning.Throughoutthe semesterIhavelearnedhowtobehaviormap,rate sitesusingSitesV2,andstarttodevelopmasterplans. ThisfinalprojectwasdoneincollaborationwithJoseph Jennings.
ThisSWOTanalysisderived fromasitevisittothe Reservoir.Myteammateand Itookamapandsticky notestoMaffitt;wherewe startedtoimaginewhatthe spacecouldbe.
MaffittAquaticsGarden
Thiszoom-inonthemasterplanfocuseson children’sinteractionswiththewaterandnatural environment. Thissiteisprogrammedsothatwaterisconstantly movingthroughthesite.
Someprogrammingofthisspaceincludes:

● Areastocloseofforopenwaterflowthrough thesite
● Waterqualityeducationandaccessibility
Thesesectionsaredepictingwhatthespace islikefortheuser.

ThisprojectwasapartofLA559,Introto DigitalDesign,classlastspring2021.This wasmyfirstexposuretomanydigital softwares,Iquicklyfellinlovewiththe differentsoftwaresalthoughitwas challengingattimes.
Thechargeofthisprojectwastodesigna spaceinfrontoftheCollegeDesignfor studentsusingAutoCAD,Rhino,Photoshop, andLumion.

ThisprojectisforBudva,Montenegro;thecompetitioncallsforre-designing thecurrentpromenadeandconnectingstreets.
Currently,Budvaisexperiencinglargeamountsoftouristsduringthe warmermonths,upto160,000aday!Thereisaneedforadjustmentsatall scales.
ThisstudioprojectiscurrentlybeingcompletedforLA604.LA604is focusingonUrbanDesignelementsinthelandscape,expandingourrange ofknowledgebeyondLandscapeArchitecture.
Thesiteinventoryofthisprojectwasdoneinagroup.
ThemapoftheleftdepictsthegreenspacesinBudva,differentiatingbetween privateandpublicaccess.
Ontherightisamapofparcelsthatarepubliclyownedorprivateparcelsthat consentordonotconsenttothecompetition
Thismaphighlightsthe accessibilityofBudvafor touristsversusresidentsof thecity.
Fromthismap,thereis clearandeasyaccessibility tothebeachfortourists.
