SENIOR LIVING

The concept for this home renovation was to showcase the owners’ love for the mountains of Colorado and meet their health needs in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The home must accomodate a wheelchair and a sensitivity to rough surfaces while creating a relaxing atmosphere. It must also allow for a large number of guests as the couple has recently retired and have more time for their grandchildren. Through the utilization of biophillic design and inspiration from their surroundings, the home is a calming space that encourages family time, rest, and the feeling of nature.

SPEAKEASY

The concept for this small space was to create something targeted to the adults in the Austin, Texas area. A speakeasy, off the beaten path gives the older members of the community a new place to try, but it still feels like it has always been a part of the Austin culture. Through subtle touchs of burnt orange and western inspired materials, the new speakeasy fits in perfectly with the surrounding culture- creating a space fit for current students, alumni, and other visitors.
