The prompt of the Euro Velo Stops competition was to "design a series of cost effective, environmentally responsible, and energy-efficient cabins for overnight stays along the EV6 route" that winds its way through continental Europe. We took an approach that lightly lifts the form off the ground, adjusting to any terrain. The form lets the roof gather water for showers and gives a sleeper a skylight in the morning. Folding walls further lighten the form and create overhangs to protect from the sun while letting someone rest in the open air.
I completed this competition with Cody Uliasz over the course of a few weekends.
