DESIGN PHILIPPINES AT M.O.M. DesignPhilippines is a branding initiative that positions the Philippines as a sourcing destination for finely crafted products for the world market.

It is a design movement that nurtures and celebrates the creativity and originality of a globally competitive and passionate community of Filipino designers and craftsmen.

As a movement, it has taken shape and now speaks with recognized authority in the world of design.

The 2020 showcase of DesignPhilippines on M.O.M., the digital platform of Maison et Objet’s, revolves around the theme “Bubble Living

by Kindred.” It captures the collective creativity of thirteen Philippine brands in showcasing the Filipino design talent and craftsmanship to an even wider global audience with their home, fashion and lifestyle selections.

Led by renowned Filipino designers Rita Nazareno and Gabby Lichauco, this year’s roster of Philippine participants includes Albero, Channali, E. Murio, Finali Furniture, Indigenous, JB+, Nature’s Legacy, Prado Filipino Artisans, P&B Valises, Weave Manila, Venzon Lighting, Zacarias 1925, and Zarate Manila.

THIRTEEN DESIGN PHILIPPINES BRANDS

Curated by renowned Filipino designers Rita Nazareno (Zacarias 1925) and Gabby Lichauco (Newfolk), this showcase revolves around the theme “Bubble Living” which was inspired by the various aspects of life in quarantine during the global pandemic. The theme puts emphasis on looking inward—into our homes, spaces, and ourselves— when choosing pieces to use and decorate.

The collective, composed of seasoned and first-timer entrants, industry veterans, presents pieces inspired by Bubble Living’s key categories: Afternoon Spirit or Aperitif, Me Time, Table for Four, Focus: Home Office and Home School, and Pocket Sanctuary. These include work-fromhome paraphernalia and furniture, bar carts for that happy hour cocktail at sunset, vessels and vases for indoor gardening, and more.
