LEGACY 500: YOU FEEL AT HOME “The first experience I had with the Legacy 500 was when I got a call to come to the airport to view it. It was a beautiful, beautiful sight. I remember vividly flying back from Brazil when we went down to pick up the Legacy 500. Just being with the family on the plane, being able to enjoy the aircraft and to be able to hear each other and interact with each other without the roar of the aircraft all around us…it was a very, very memorable trip for all of us. What I like most about the aircraft as a passenger is the low cabin noise and the low-altitude pressurization. Both of those are key for me. They really make a difference while traveling. The cabin welcomes you as you get on the aircraft. You feel at home. It’s very comfortable. The design is very sleek. My father and my brother are both pilots, so the Legacy 500 took on special meaning for them in terms of the avionics, fly-by-wire and HUD system. Safety is first for us and the Legacy 500 avionics help in that regard. We have a relatively short runway and we usually fly a full payload. The Legacy 500 performs well in both aspects. The sales team at Embraer was outstanding. They did a tremendous job for us. Really, they made us feel special. And with that, they helped us to own a very special airplane. We can’t be more grateful for that.” - Nathan Grindstaff, Board Member, Mastercorp Watch Nathan’s story and request more information at EmbraerExecutiveJets.com/Nathan

The game-changing Legacy 500 — the first midsize jet with fly-by-wire controls — is the benchmark for the future in performance, passenger room and comfort. On the flight deck, the advanced Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion™ platform puts pilots in complete control in a cockpit environment that provides superior ergonomics. With seating for up to 12 passengers, the Legacy 500 delivers a smooth flight in a largest-in-class stand-up cabin with a flat floor, fully equipped galley, state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment and elegant seating that converts into fully flat berths in a low cabin altitude. The main baggage compartment is the largest in class and complements generous inflight-accessible cabin stowage space. The clean-sheetdesign Legacy 500 is also the fastest jet in its class, delivering a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.82 and excellent runway performance.

Phenom 300 Global fleet expands to Australia The global success of Embraer Executive Jets’ Phenom 300 light jet continues with the first delivery of the type to Australia. The new Phenom 300 was delivered in January to the Lucas family, which has business interests in the transport, agriculture, and hospitality industries across four states in Australia. “Given the spread of our businesses from far north Queensland to southern Victoria, the Phenom 300’s speed, range, and short takeoff performance—especially for remote runways—was a perfect fit for our needs. It was also a step up from the turboprop aircraft we were operating,” says Stephen Lucas, chairman of the Lucas family.

“The Phenom 300 has become a very popular aircraft around the world and we are very pleased to see it fly Australia’s skies,” says Capt. Manfred Baudzus, Embraer Executive Jets Regional Sales Director. “The jet’s short takeoff performance perfectly suits the geographic nature of Australia, enabling access to airports with restrictive operations, in addition to its capability of crossing the Tasman from east Australia. We are confident that the Phenom 300’s premium comfort, high reliability, and low operating costs deliver the best customer experience in a light jet.” ExecuJet Maintenance Australia has been authorized to provide maintenance for all Phenom 300 light jets in the country.

The Phenom 300 joins an Australian fleet that already includes the entry-level Phenom 100, the super midsize Legacy 600 and Legacy 500 midsize jets.

Phenom 100 starts operation in Argentina The debut of Embraer Executive Jets in Argentina was celebrated by the arrival of two Phenom 100, which are now operating as private and charter flights. A fleet of over 100 Phenom 100 jets are in operation across Latin America, which accounts for close to one third of the global fleet. “We are thrilled with the initial operations of the Phenom 100 jets in Argentina, a market that is showing signs of recovery,” said Gustavo Fonseca, Vice-President of Sales for Embraer Executive Jets in Latin America. “Embraer’s executive jets deliver cutting-edge technology, premium comfort, generous baggage capacity, low operating costs and easy operation to meet Argentinian business aviation market needs.” “This market is gaining momentum,” adds Fonseca. “We are seeing more and more sales opportunities for preowned and new aircraft in Argentina, considering its ageing aircraft fleet. There are 170 business jets in Argentina, and 80% of this inventory is more than 10 years old.” Embraer Executive Jets’ Service Center in Sorocaba was certified by the Argentinian aviation authority (Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil de Argentina - ANAC) for maintenance of the Company’s complete business jet portfolio under ANAC registration. In addition, an Embraer authorized service center in Buenos Aires will soon be named.

Phenom 300: Phenomenal by Design

In 2005, Embraer Executive Jets was launched, and the “clean-sheet” design Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 jets were unveiled. These revolutionary jets, whose design drivers are premium comfort, outstanding performance, and low operating costs, have completely fulfilled the role for which they were designed, and have lived up to their name. Embraer’s strategy to introduce the Phenom jets into a competitive market space, leveraged the company’s core competencies in aircraft design, certification, production, supply chain management, and its global customer support organization as well as a commitment to create a superior customer experience through an innovative partnership. This partnership was formed with BMW DesignworksUSA, and led to the design of a cabin that delivers ample space, abundant natural light from large windows, a private aft lavatory, and amenities like a refreshment center, and inflight entertainment. In addition to the premium comfort of the enhanced Oval Lite cabin, the convenience of an elegant air stair and a generous baggage compartment completes the customer’s superior travel experience.

A critical specification requirement being fulfilled by the Phenom 300 is its suitability across all segments, from private to corporate ownership. Certified for single pilot operation, the jet is also ideal for owner pilots. The Phenom 300 also has proven that it was designed for exceptional reliability, even at the higher utilization rates required by corporate flight departments, charter operators, and fractional programs, such as Executive AirShare, Flight Options, NetJets, and JetSuite. Both the Phenom 100 and the Phenom 300 have been recognized for their innovative designs, receiving the Best of the Best Award for three consecutive years from the international luxury magazine, Robb Report. As a reflection of the strengthening of its brand in the market, Embraer Executive Jets was the only aviation company mentioned in Robb Report’s “Luxury’s 25 Most Innovative Brands.” Entering into service in December 2009, the Phenom 300 took the light jet segment’s lead in deliveries in 2012, sustaining a share greater than 50% ever since. In 2016, the global fleet of Phenom 300 grew by 63 aircraft, and now more than 380 jets are in operation in 30 countries.

Premium comfort Exceptional reliability Low operating costs Outstanding performance Innovative designs 10

Performance

The success of the Legacy executive jet, launched in 2000, stimulated Embraer to evaluate a full commitment to the business aviation market. The company diligently studied the industry, conducted advisory boards, and interacted extensively with customers and business aircraft operators from around the world to identify requirements that would define best-in-class aircraft.

The Phenom 300 is one of the fastest jets in its category, with the best take-off and runway performance. The Prodigy Touch Flight Deck, combined with features of the category above—such as single-point refueling, externally serviced lavatory, low cabin altitude—and the largest baggage compartment in its category, explain the success of the Phenom 300, whose operating and maintenance cost is substantially lower than competing aircraft.

Luxury’s

In its seven years of operation, the Phenom 300 has achieved the mark of most delivered business jet in the world for the past four years in a row, and it has accumulated 266 deliveries since 2013, with an 11% margin over the runner-up.

INwAithCLASS OF HER OWN Yana Torresan Yana Torresan is an inspiration to us all. The first female pilot certified to fly our revolutionary Legacy 500 midsize business jet, she epitomizes the very best attributes of our industry and during her near two-decade career has consistently illustrated the dedication, talent, and perseverance required to succeed. An accomplished pilot, Yana has accumulated an impressive 6,500 flight hours since gaining her first type certification in 1998 from the Aeroclube do Pará, in northern Brazil. In those 19 years, Yana has flown both commercial and business aircraft — including Embraer's Tupi (EMB712), Seneca (EMB810), Bandeirante (EMB 110), Brasília (EMB120), ERJ 145 (EMB145) — to deliver the ultimate flying experience to passengers on the Legacy 500 and Legacy 600, an aircraft that she particularly cherishes. Yana was no stranger to aviation as a child. Her mother, who worked at Brazilian airport operator INFRAERO, was well-versed in the demands of commercial aviation and her stepfather provided a military insight as an aviator colonel for the Brazilian Air Force. Yana turned that knowledge into a passion that still motivates her every day.

“Love aviation,” Yana says to those considering a career as a pilot. “Because dedication, study, and life as a pilot will only succeed by truly loving each stage: from the first day to the last one in a cockpit.” The rewards, says Yana, are many. Pilots have a singular appreciation of the world and are afforded a rare opportunity to see nature from an enviable vantage. “All destinations are special,” Yana says, although she does note that she has a “special affection” for flying to the island of Fernando de Noronha and to Santos Dumont, in Rio de Janeiro.

12

That affection extends to her aircraft. While fond of the Legacy 600 and its capacity to comfortably accommodate her longest flight — between Sao Paulo and San Jose in California — Yana applauds the technological advances introduced in the new midsize Legacy 500, such as the full fly-by-wire flight control system. “The delicacy of flight controls together with the aircraft’s robustness create a fascinating contrast,” she says. “Flying an aircraft like this gives me great satisfaction since it combines what is most modern and safe in the market today." Yana also commends Embraer’s awarding-winning global support network, noting:

“What I admire most about Embraer customer support is the proactive approach to problem-solving.” So far, the career highlight for Yana — who was the first woman promoted as captain and flight instructor in a regional company on a 70-seat turbo prop aircraft and has been the only woman in every one of her pilot training courses — occurred in 2007 when she commanded an all-female crew on an ATR 72 flight from Natal, the capital of Rio Grande do Norte state, to Fernando de Noronha in celebration of International Women’s Day. While that flight illustrates the gains women have made in aviation, Yana warns that inequality still exists. “There is still prejudice,” she notes, adding “the best way to overcome it is through dedication and professionalism.” Ultimately, Yana says future pilots must embrace their career choice. “In addition to the pleasure of flying and piloting, the possibility of knowing the world and new cultures makes being a pilot a complete profession,” she says.

MRO centers VP brings a passion for aviation to customer support John Mansfield, who recently joined the Embraer Executive Jets family as Vice President MRO Centers Worldwide, brings a lifetime of passion for aviation to his new role. A licensed pilot in his teens, John was exposed to aviation from an early age by a mother who worked as a flight attendant and station manager for an international airline and a father who piloted aircraft for a mining company in Africa. John translated this passion into a successful career and for 36 years he has served business aviation as a senior manager, field representative, or technician for some of the largest companies in the industry. He now brings this experience to an Embraer support network that has set a new benchmark in customer satisfaction. “I have watched Embraer with interest for a number of years. My first impressions were how professional and welcoming everyone is and what a great portfolio of products and services is offered. For such a short time in the business aviation world the company has come a very long way,” says John.

This success is a strong foundation for growth. “Embraer Executive Jets’ MROs have a tremendous future. I see them being centers of excellence and the first choice for our customers. I also see added portfolios of services and greater synergies with the Commercial and Defense divisions of our company,” notes John. But customers always come first for John. “The OEM/ MRO businesses are correctly expected to be the standard-bearer for the industry in terms of technical proficiency and customer satisfaction. Attaining and maintaining this level of competency is something we have to consistently work at,” says Embraer Executive Jets’ new Vice President MRO Centers Worldwide.

Landing gear sampling for the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 renders longer TBO Our quest to continuously enhance your experience as a customer—as a passenger and as an owner— has rendered yet another tangible benefit. We have concluded the evaluation of the landing gear sampling for the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300, and we are very pleased to report that the sampling results were evaluated by our engineering group, who validated the calendar life expansion. The new Time Between Overhaul (TBO) for the nose and main landing gears has been extended from 8 years (96 months) to 10 years (120 months) or 12,000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first. The best news is that no application or inspection is required to qualify for this TBO extension, nor is a change required for any aircraft hardware or software. The new information is available on FlyEmbraer and will be reflected in future documentation. Our sampling process involved conducting overhauls on two landing gear sets from a fleet operator in the U.S., in order to obtain a high-utilization sample, in addition to two sets from individual customers in the U.S. A Brazilian customer also provided a set for substantiation of the existing condition of landing gears at a lower calendar life. The overhaul of the gear encompassed considerable labor necessary for the complete disassembly, bushing removal, stripping, non-destructive inspection, dimensional inspection, cleaning, repairs & painting, surface protection, reassembly and testing, all in accordance with the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM). This extension also validates the design of the Phenom 100 and the Phenom 300 for high utilization and high reliability. These revolutionary aircraft incorporate Embraer’s low-maintenance philosophy, based on the Maintenance Steering Group’s (MSG-3) guidelines for optimal aircraft maintenance schedules.

IS GOOD EVER GOOD ENOUGH? If an Embraer executive jet feels like nothing you’ve experienced before, that’s because there was nothing like it before. In short, our executive aircraft are the tangible manifestation of our culture of constant improvement and unconventional thinking. You’ll notice it in the details. Feel it in ergonomics.
