GREETINGS GREETINGS FROM FROM THE THE PRESIDENT PRESIDENT

My friends, Innovation is key to the success of any venture and in this issue of Embraer Advantage, you will find some shining examples of Embraer Executive Jets’ commitment to innovation, both in our operation and in our relationship with you. That relationship is core to our mission, and as our friends at Santa Adélia discuss in this issue, our efforts to exceed your expectations not only manifest themselves in our award-winning customer service or our class-defining aircraft but also through a deeper appreciation of your need and desire to succeed and our role in that success. We, too, are constantly striving to offer you the best aircraft in the industry and we are excited to unveil the next evolution in our Phenom family, the Phenom 100 EV, aircraft that introduces enhanced performance and innovations into the cockpit and cabin to ensure this remarkable jet remains the entry-level sector’s benchmark. Our drive to Rethink Convention also continues in our Legacy family with the launch of the Legacy 650E, aircraft that meets the growing demands of the larger jet sector while still offering the unparalleled value, performance, and high utilization, bringing the most unconventional feature to the market: a ten-year warranty; double that of its competitors. As this edition of Advantage illustrates, our commitment to Rethink Convention and challenge the status quo is as deep as our commitment to you.

Enjoy the issue.

Marco Tulio Pellegrini President and CEO, Embraer Executive Jets

Phenom 100 EV - Commitment to the Entry-level Class When Embraer Executive Jets launched the Phenom 100 in 2008, we revolutionized the entry-level sector and introduced a standard of performance, efficiency and comfort that still is emulated in the industry. Since that launch, we have remained committed to delivering the best aircraft in the market and to ensure we meet your high standards we have introduced the latest evolution of our jet, the Phenom 100 EV.

The Phenom 100 EV cockpit will offer Embraer’s stateof-the-art Prodigy Touch flight deck—the same glass cockpit system that was introduced to the business aviation community in 2013 with Embraer’s classleading Phenom 300 light jet—and pilots are provided with new braking, deicing, vertical navigation, runway incursion and weather systems to improve operation and situational awareness.

With improved power from two upgraded FADECequipped Pratt & Whitney Canada engines, the Phenom 100 EV offers up to 10% more thrust, an impressive 405 knots high-speed cruise threshold and an additional 645lb of payload—89lb more than the closest rival—as well as shorter flight time to initial cruise.

Passengers, too, benefit from a redesigned, straightline main aisle and relocated power outlets offering USB charging that provide even more room in the aircraft’s benchmark cabin.

Flight tests conducted in September in Cochabamba, Bolivia also have confirmed the Phenom 100 EV’s dramatically improved hot and high performance.

06

The first Phenom 100 EV is scheduled to enter service in the first half of 2017. Emirates Flight Training Academy, which trains commercial airline pilots, and Mexican premium business aviation services provider Across are launch customers.

This aircraft is the third model to be assembled at the Company’s recently expanded Melbourne facility, where the Legacy 500 will also join the assembly line, in 2017. Melbourne’s aircraft assembly operations began in early 2011 with the Phenom 100, followed by the Phenom 300 in August 2012. In just over five five years, close to 200 Phenom jets have been delivered from this facility to customers across the U.S. and in 12 other countries. The Melbourne campus has grown to over 800 employees and 450,000 square feet of facilities, comprising the Customer Center with a mockup showroom and interior design studios, an assembly plant with two paint shops, the Customer Support base for North America, and the Embraer Engineering and Technology Center USA.

E2VS - The First Enhanced Flight Vision System for the Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 Pilots of our revolutionary Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 mid-light and midsize jets can now improve situational awareness and reduce workload during all phases of flight with the innovative Embraer Enhanced Vision System, or E2VS, the first enhanced flight vision system offered to the mid-light and midsize sectors. This compact, lightweight Head-up Display (HUD)— which incorporates the Rockwell Collins Head-up Guidance System (HGS-350) and the multi-spectral enhanced vision system (EVS-3000) recently certified by Brazilian, European and U.S. regulators—provides the same benefits previously offered only on much larger business jets, but at a fraction of the cost, size, and weight. In addition, E2VS can present SVS or EVS images on the HUD. Enabling operations at lower minima in low visibility conditions, E2VS enhances the aircraft’s capability allowing access to more restrictive airports during inclement weather. E2VS delivers the same symbology as conventional HUDs without the need for a bulky projector, cooling system or a separate, dedicated computer and provides a reliable, high-resolution image of a pilot’s environment that is capable of distinguishing LED ground lights not detectable by conventional EVS infrared cameras.

EMBRAER ADVANTAGE / CUSTOMER STORY

Embraer and Santa Adélia: Shared values in excellence Story by Santa Adélia Director Norberto Bellodi In the near 60 years since our foundation, Usina Santa Adélia S/A has developed an expertise in the production of sugar, ethanol and electricity, all from the cultivation of sugar cane, and is a champion of producing agro-food and energy from renewable sources, with strict standards quality and sustainability.

Embraer as a test engineer for the Brasília program. We took delivery of a Phenom 100 in 2010 and during a visit to Embraer’s service center in Sorocaba, São Paulo state, to learn more about maintenance processes we were fortunate to learn about the P3E program.

Originally operating from a single facility in São Paulo state, in the past decade we have experienced tremendous growth and by adding a new plant in Pereira Barreto and by incorporating another in Sud Mennucci—both in the far west of Sao Paulo— we have tripled our production capacity and this year alone expect to cultivate more than 80,000 hectares of sugar cane to produce about 110,000 tons of sugar, 340,000 m3 of ethanol and 550,000 MWh of electricity.

Through P3E and its Kaizen process we identified our main opportunities and set priorities. From this, we created the VOAR program—which translates to “Fly” and is an acronym for Value the Operation and Augment Results—as well as programs for business excellence, leadership development and new systems architecture. We also plan to develop a training academy.

Such rapid growth created new demands on a company and in 2014 we started a development program with all our management called Excellence in Leadership. The theoretical learning and program development allowed us to establish a new management model based on the pillars of Strategy, People and Operations. However, it was necessary to create a project capable of supporting these pillars (especially operations) with consistent methodology and tools to seek improvements in our processes. Because of that, we realized we needed support from an outside consultant and fortunately Embraer’s commitment to the Value Stream system allowed us to benefit from its Embraer Enterprise Excellence Program, or P3E, a program that promotes continuous improvement, enhanced productivity and best practices.

Embraer also introduced us to the Lean Philosophy, with which we will achieve a leadership position in operational profitability in the sugar and energy sector as well as generating resources for growth. The fundamental success of our restructuring and P3E is the involvement of every single team member in the process of continuous improvement. And, by utilizing the potential of every one of our 3,500 colleagues we will maximize the remarkable improvements in agricultural yields and productivity as well as reductions in supply chain lead times and inventories that we have already seen. Excellence is a result of a continuous search for improvement. We are only at the beginning.

While our introduction to P3E happened by chance, our relationship with Embraer dates to the 1980s when Marcelo Bellodi, one of Santa Adélia’s founding family members, joined

EMBRAER ADVANTAGE / PEOPLE BEHIND THE AIRCRAFT

Designer-photographer sees beauty in details Interior designer Erich Shibata has experienced countless significant moments during his nine-year career with Embraer Executive Jets in São José dos Campos, Brazil. From meeting customers for the first time to watching the delivery of an aircraft he designed, he has had more than 1,000 “very important moments,” configuring more than 490 jets and traveling to more than 30 countries to assist customers during their spec process. About two years ago, Erich’s longtime photography hobby led to an additional role at Embraer as an aircraft photographer. Since then, his photos have appeared in publications throughout the world as well as other media. Recently, he shared his insights about photos he took of the two cutting-edge products: Embraer’s Legacy 500 and Porsche’s Macan. For Erich, the photo session was an opportunity to combine three of his passions: photography, aircraft and cars. The companies that manufacture these two innovative “machines” have a lot in common, he said. Both continually challenge themselves and redefine what’s possible, producing stunningly engineered machines or ‘pieces of art’ that can safely transport people, emotions and feelings. They make your life easier. You will be enjoying every moment of the trip.

14

14

EMBRAER ADVANTAGE /

All the details are well done and executed. For example, the wood craftsmanship on the Legacy 500 is something exceptional. On a Porsche, you also see the perfection concept all around – all the pieces inside the car are perfectly assembled.”

Erich said both the Legacy 500 and the Macan convey feelings of technology, success, safety and speed. In addition to the many positive attributes of the Legacy 500 and the Macan, Erich mentioned something else that impresses him about the two machines:

The sound of the engines when you have the full power is amazing. It transmits a feeling that you don’t have limits, you could go wherever you want at the time and speed you want.”

Customer Service is a Priority for Embraer PreFlown Embraer Executive Jets has implemented a strategy to preserve and maintain the value of its fleet to ensure customers of its pre-owned aircraft are provided the same service and expertise as owners and operators of its new aircraft.

WeWe believe pre-owned aircraft customers deservedeserve the highest believe pre-owned aircraft customers the level level of quality,” says Breno Executive Jets’ Senior highest of quality,” saysCorrea, Breno Embraer Correa, Embraer Executive of PreFlown Aircraft. “This applies not onlynot to the jet Jets’Vice VicePresident President of PreFlown Aircraft. “This applies only theyjetpurchase but to the process asprocess well as their full to the they purchase butacquisition to the acquisition as well ownership experience, regardless regardless of the price tag.” as their full ownership experience, of the price tag.” To guarantee the highest standards of service, Embraer PreFlown ensures the aircraft being traded in are mechanically sound, safe and airworthy and with the added support of programs like Embraer Executive Care, Embraer PreFlown customers can be assured of the aircraft’s care since it rolled off the production line. This is just the first step in bestowing PreFlown status to an aircraft. Depending on the aircraft’s age, condition and maintenance status, Correa’s team will complete minor touch ups from new engine covers and logbook binders to major maintenance, equipment enhancements, full interior refurbishments and partial or complete repainting.

Embraer PreFlown has even taken the philosophy of creating a new-aircraft-like experience in a pre-owned aircraft transaction to a higher level–the Personalized PreFlown Aircraft. Not every Embraer PreFlown aircraft is a candidate for this program, but given the right aircraft, a buyer may enjoy personalizing their pre-owned jet, which is common practice when ordering a new aircraft, but now available at a pre-owned aircraft price. As with a new aircraft purchase, there is a baseline specification associated with the advertised price. The aircraft may be further enhanced with the addition of optional equipment. Aircraft specification sessions are held at the Embraer Executive Jets Design Studio, at its Customer Center, in Melbourne, Florida, where avionics specialists, interior designers, and exterior paint graphic artists assist in transforming the customer’s vision into reality.

You can also rest assured that your Personalized PreFlown aircraft will come with some of those new aircraft attributes: initial flight training, CAMP, FlyEmbraer, book revision service, and engine and airframe programs,” says Correa.

IS GOOD EVER GOOD ENOUGH? If an Embraer executive jet feels like nothing you’ve experienced before, that’s because there was nothing like it before. In short, our executive aircraft are the tangible manifestation of our culture of constant improvement and unconventional thinking. You’ll notice it in the details. Feel it in ergonomics. And hear it in cabins that maintain amazing levels of quiet at every altitude. We’re not for those who are comfortable with the status quo—but rather, for those who consider that the starting point.
