The EPA

Uniform sales on behalf of parents
The EPA will endeavour to sell uniform on behalf of parents. The EPA can accept uniform for sale only on the basis of the following conditions:
1. Uniform is accepted for sale on the understanding that if it is in poor condition such that the EPA determines it is unsuitable for sale, then it will not be placed in the sale but will be disposed of.
2. Whilst every care will be taken of property submitted for sale, no liability can be accepted by the EPA for loss or damage, and all items are received for sale at the owner’s risk.
3. All uniform is offered for sale at a price determined by the EPA on the day of the sale.
4. Any uniform not sold will be retained and offered again at later sales. Uniform not sold within two years will be disposed of at the sole discretion of the EPA. No unsold uniform can be returned, and the EPA cannot guarantee that any item will be sold.
5. You will receive 65% of the sale proceeds (e.g. if a blazer is sold for £30, you will receive £19.50). Payment will normally be made within 30 days of any sale.
6. The minimum payment we will make after any sale is £5. If, at any sale, the total amount due to you is less than £5, then you will not receive any payment, but this sum will be donated to the EPA.
7. The EPA will make payments to parents only by PayPal. Under no circumstances will payment be made by any other means. PayPal is the quickest and most efficient payment method for the EPA to use, given that the sale is entirely organised by parent volunteers with scarce time, and that the EPA needs to keep its banking costs to a minimum. You will receive email notification when a payment is made to you. If you do not already have a PayPal account then you will need to open one. This may be done online very quickly and easily once you receive your email notification and is free. PayPal, however, will deduct 3% commission for sending you your cash – the EPA’s sales commission has been reduced to 35% (previously 40%) to reflect this.
How to sell uniform
1. Please leave uniform in a bag labelled ‘EPA uniform sale’ at the Gatehouse from Monday –Thursday of the week of the sale.
2. Please ensure that the items are clean and in good condition
3. Please complete the Contact Information Slip and pin the label with a safety pin to the bag you send the clothes in. The information provided will enable the EPA to arrange any credit due to you for items sold. In particular, we must have the email address associated with your PayPal account in order to make a payment to you
4. Complete the printed labels provided (see next page) and attach to each item using a safety pin.
5. Please do not price items: this will be done by us. Please use the same name on your labels as the one on your contact details.
6. If clothing is received without any of the above information, we will assume the item has been donated and all the proceeds will go to the EPA.
