This strange M.C. Escher-like building was once one of the largest slaughterhouses in East Asia. Designed

by British architects and built in 1933, it’s now the last remaining building of its design in the world.

Designed and developed together with a group of street smart locals, it is based on the unique conditions of their city. Part of the sales is donated to a local charity of the group’s choice. This year’s inspiration was the city of Shanghai.

There have actually been a number of legal graffiti walls in Shanghai, but the most famous one is Moganshan Road. Even if it’s demolition have been a topic of debate since 2008 it’s still alive and well.

The pattern on the Shanghai Jacket is inspired by the Platane trees, spread throughout China. The trees were imported by the French in 1902 to be used as roadside decoration.
