Proud of our students EPHS Awards Ceremony - A Celebration of Success!
In the closing days of the Autumn term the fantastic achievements of our Year 11 and Year 13 were honoured in our 2016 Awards Ceremony. In front of a packed school hall on 19th December, students were presented with trophies and certificates for exemplary sporting performance, academic attainment and personal development. One of the many highlights of the evening was seeing Asmita Gupta receive the Mohamed Sabur Award for her constant enthusiasm and dedication to help out in Inclusion. Ms Evans spoke glowingly of Asmita, saying “she should be very proud of herself, especially all she has achieved in her years at Elthorne Park.” Other recipients on the evening

Welcome from the Headteacher
This year has seen us build on a strong set of academic results both at KS4 and Sixth Form. The perseverance shown by all students and staff over the exam period was truly remarkable. We are prepared to repeat this excellent performance this academic year. During the Autumn term I had the pleasure of meeting 56 gold credit award winners and 12 platinum award winners. I loved hearing their feedback on how the school can be made even better and celebrated their fantastic individual achievements.
e also saw a number of achievements W and experiences outside the classroom including KS4 climbing assessments at HOAC to triumphant football matches against other local schools. The Duke of Edinburgh Scheme relaunched with a new cohort at Bronze and Silver level. The Christmas Performing Arts Festival was exceptional with many of our talented musicians taking their chance to shine. I was privileged to visit our feeder primary schools with Year 7 ambassadors to answer questions from future Elthorne students. We also invited primary students to make
and fire egg-cellent rockets with Mr Scobie.
We took our civic responsibilty seriously too, raising over £1000 for Jeans for Genes day. Year 8 hosted local residents for the Christmas party and worked hard preparing a range of entertainment for the afternoon. It has been an industrious first half to the academic year. I hope you enjoy reading about a small portion of our students’ achievements in this publication. We felt that it was important we proudly celebrate our students, and apologise to all those who we didn’t have room to mention. Mr Wong, Headteacher
