More on Recruitment
Pi Chis
Every Potential New Member will be assigned a Pi Chi, also known as a recruitment counselor. Pi Chis are current juniors or seniors who are active sorority members. During recruitment, all Pi Chis disaffiliate from their chapters to help PNMs through the recruitment process by unbiasedly answering questions and offering their support. Every PNM will be grouped with at least 2 Pi Chis, with whom they will meet with every day of recruitment.

A day-by-day breakdown
Saturday, January 25th
Day 0: Orientation
What to expect:
Day 0 officially kicks off recruitment! On day 0, PNMs will meet with their Pi Chi group and attend a guest speaker. PNMs will not visit any houses today.
What to wear:
Wear whatever you would normally wear! Jeans, leggings, and sweats are all acceptable, there is no expectation to dress up, everyone is welcome to come as comfy as they please!
Day 0: Orientation More outfit inspo!
Sunday, January 26th
Day 1: Philanthropy
What to expect:
Each chapter has unique national and/or local philanthropic organizations and annual events to tell you about, which they will discuss with you on day 1. Potential new members (PNMs) will attend 30 minute sessions with each of the 10 Panhellenic sororities. At the end of the day, PNMs will rank the chapters based on which they are most interested in returning to the next day, while at the same time, each chapter will enter their preferences of the PNMs they would most like to invite back for the sisterhood round the following day. This process is called “mutual selection.”
What to wear:
Dress casually and comfortably. Jeans and a sweater are appropriate for this round. Remember that you will be walking to each chapter’s location and we do recruitment in January, so be sure to bring warm layers and a jacket!
Day 1: Philanthropy More outfit inspo!
Monday, January 27th
Day 2: Sisterhood
What to expect:
During the sisterhood round, each organization will present information about the ideas, responsibilities, and bonds that unique their members. This round is the time to ask questions about the expectations of membership in the chapter, including finances, housing, events, attendance and participation. PNMs will be invited back to up to six chapters on this day (though some PNMs may receive fewer invitations). At the end of day 2, PNMs will again rank the chapters based on which they are most interested in returning to the next day, while each chapter will enter their preferences of the PNMs they would most like to invite back for round 3.
What to wear:
Day 2 is more formal than day 1, so a sweater and jeans/trousers/skirt will work! A more casual dress is also totally fine! Think about dressing as you would for a nice dinner with your family.
Day 2: Sisterhood More outfit inspo!
Tuesday, January 28th
Day 3: Preference
What to expect:
Preference is the last day of recruitment rounds, rounds lasting 1 hour each. An invitation to a preference round indicates a sorority’s strong interest in you as a future member. Throughout these rounds, a sorority’s presentation will reflect the values and ideals held in high esteem by members. PNMs will be invited back to see UP TO a maximum of two chapters (though some may receive fewer invitations). After events that day, PNMs will rank order the one or two sororities that they would be willing to accept a bid from. The sororities will also select the women they would like to extend bids to.
What to wear:
Preference round is the most formal day of recruitment. It is recommended that you wear a nice dress or jumpsuit. Shoes should also be formal. All dresses should be appropriate and classy, think about dressing like you are attending a holiday party with your parents – classy, not club attire. Many chapter members will be wearing white, black, or red. Because of this, some PNMs may choose to stay away from those colors, but everyone welcome to wear whatever color they please!
Day 3: Preferance More outfit inspo!
Wednesday, January 29th
Day 4: Bid Day!
What to expect:
Bid Day is the final day of the recruitment process where PNMs are notified if they will be receiving a bid for membership to one of the sororities. PNMs will be notified that morning if they will not be receiving a bid. Bid distribution will take place for PNMs, then the remainder of the day will be spent with your new sisterhood!
What to wear:
Bid day is completely casual! Whatever you wear today is the same vibe as day 0, just make sure to wear comfortable bottoms and shoes Organizations will provide bid day shirts or sweatshirts to their new members.
