The SC Festival of Flowers: Is an inclusive event that involves volunteers and participants from across the region; Offers entertainment options ranging from gardening and performances to sporting and cultural events; Focuses on education as we empower the community with horticulture knowledge and offers learning opportunities for all ages; Is an economically and ecologically sustainable festival that takes pride in being an economic catalyst for the entire Greenwood community.
The South Carolina Festival of Flowers is chartered by the Secretary of State of South Carolina as a non-profit organization for the promotion of tourism in Greenwood County.
The mission of the South Carolina Festival of Flowers is to showcase Greenwood as a destination for flowers, families and fun!
Greenwood’s collaborative community spirit, mild climate, excellent healthcare, exciting cultural arts programs, and affordable cost of living are just a few of the amenities which make it a prime location for living and visiting. Discover Greenwood is proud to partner with the SC Festival of Flowers as South Carolina’s only community to participate in the national America in Bloom program and has received numerous accolades through its involvement. Greenwood was recognized nationally through the Floral Display award for the Festival’s Signature Topiary Display. In addition, Greenwood has been awarded “Coolest Place for Kids” thanks to our innovative Tweet program along with the Splash Pad located at our Uptown Market. We look forward to you exploring all Greenwood has to offer during your visit. Enjoy your time in Greenwood during the SC Festival of Flowers!
KELLY MCWHORTER, Executive Director Discover Greenwoodto celebrate and recognize milestones. Fifteen years ago, Kay Self and Kathryn Smith, joined by L. Ruple Harley, had the idea to enhance Greenwood’s already legendary annual South Carolina Festival of Flowers celebration with beautifully expressive and finely manicured topiaries. This unique display of plant life is possible because of the Self Family Foundation and Greenwood’s robust business and industry community and the dedicated individuals charged with year-round care of the artwork. Locals and visitors eagerly anticipate the unveiling of Greenwood’s topiaries as June arrives and get to enjoy the added attraction in Uptown through a summer of fun and festivities.
