Michael has been a staple in the New York City real estate scene for almost two decades. Michael is an expert broker who has not only overseen numerous residential development and construction projects, but also made a name for himself with some of the most record-breaking, high-profile deals of the last decade. These deals range from 220 Central Park South to 432 Park Avenue to The Sherry-Netherland Hotel, and numerous condos and cooperatives along Park and Fifth Avenues and lofts downtown.

Michael graduated Babson College in Wellesley, MA, with a BS in Real Estate and Finance. He furthered his education with a law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and earned a Master's degree in Real Estate from New York University. Michael joined Douglas Elliman in 2006 and founded the Michael Lorber Team in 2019 which has grown to over 20 agents in Manhattan, the Hamptons, and Palm Beach..

As a star of "Million Dollar Listing New York" Michael displayed his encyclopedic knowledge of real estate history, architecture and design. He also began to build on his own real estate portfolio and learned how to invest wisely in New York, Florida and Massachusetts. Michael is able to offer his clients a full support system to help them make the most informed decisions in their real estate transactions.

Outside of work, Michael serves as a Trustee of Babson College, the New York Restoration Project, and amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. Michael is an avid outdoorsman, backgammon player, collector of art, watches and rare books, boater, and dog lover. Michael divides his time between his apartment on the Upper East Side, Palm Beach, Florida and Water Mill, New York with his husband Jeffrey and their son, Charles and English Springer Spaniel, River.
