HPSA is the Hazelwood Parent and Staff Association. All staff and parents of Hazelwood are automatically members. It was set up as a charity many years ago to support the children at Hazelwood School. Through various fundraising initiatives Sophie Riga de Spinoza - Co chair Steve Kelly - Co Chair and donations the aim is to Anna Morris - Co Vice-chair Mel Guy - Co Vice-chair Elena Melnic - Treasurer Amy Sheehan - Assistant Treasurer consistently raise around Beata Farkashazi - Secretary £25,000 per year. Money raised each year goes on enhancing the education and well being of pupils while they are here. For instance the last few years we have installed whiteboards in all the classes to ensure consistent modern teaching practices. Stage, sound and light systems have been revamped too as performances are one of the many strong points of the school and we have some true stars!

We also provide some small things too like resources for children with additional educational needs that are more appropriate to an individual child. We have also supported the grief counselling that goes on for some of our pupils who sadly have lost a parent or sibling. We provide materials for the parent volunteers who maintain the school grounds which year on year has won awards. There are so many things to be involved in at Hazelwood. We are very proud of the School and take pride in the community spirit that exists here. We have a fantastic committee this year who are enthusiastically planning lots of upcoming events to support and raise money for the school. A thank you from our Governors Around this time every year, there is a real buzz around the Hazelwood community, fuelled by the fantastic events arranged by both HPSA and the school in the run up to the holiday season. Though the days are shorter and colder, there is a real warmth and cheer in the air which carries us all the way through to the winter break. There is simply no better time to express our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation for the spirit with which you give your time and energies for the good of our school community. This is an incredibly talented and generous community and once again it has come together at another brilliant and well organised event. Our thanks to all of the volunteers who help year in year out to make it all possible. We also welcome those of you who have recently joined our school community and invite you to get stuck in, in any way that you can and are able, to support and celebrate our school. A special thanks to Steve and Sophie and all of HPSA for their dedication and hard work, we are incredibly grateful for your constant and unwavering support. These are challenging times for schools, for communities and for individuals. Though change often brings an element of uncertainty, it often brings with it opportunity too. Our school community has really stood behind us to enable us to continue to work for the best interest of our schools.
