Put on your boogie shoes and grab some popcorn for the premiere of “Dance Moms: A New Era’s” second season, coming to Hulu Monday, Dec. 8.

Acting as a reboot of the hit reality series “Dance Moms,” which aired nine seasons from 2011 and 2024, this return to the world of competitive dance waves goodbye to its predecessor’s lead dance instructor, Abby Lee Miller, introducing viewers to a new coach, new dancers and new drama from the mamas.

A series synopsis from Hulu reads: “Beloved dance coach, Glo Hampton, [wants] to take her students and prestigious dance school Studio Bleu to the next level — competing nationally every week. But the road to glory won’t be an easy one. Coach Glo must juggle her tiny but mighty dancers, their scheming moms and ensuing meltdowns, all while ruling with a tender but tough iron fist. Will Glo and her dance team persevere amidst the dramatics?”

dancers. While working alongside her daughter, Kaeli, Glo faces rising tensions in the studio as a new mom and a new dancer join the team, and as personal struggles prove to have devastating effects.

While many fans of the original series may miss the presence of the infamous Abby Lee, Glo promises that there are still plenty of similarities between the two.

“Abby and I met on the original show, and my daughter and I went on as one of the replacements for her team, and we became actually really fast friends,” she told US Weekly.

“We’ve both been in the business for a very long time. We know a lot of the same people.” The interview goes on to explain that Glo and the former “Dance Moms” star “teach very similar styles, very technically based” and “really put an emphasis on terminology.”

Glo has even adopted some of her predecessor’s toughest techniques, including the pyramid ranking system that “Dance Moms” became famous for.

Seeing limits tested and ballet ribbons tightened, Season 2 of “Dance Moms: A New Era” debuts on Hulu Monday, Dec. 8.

A holiday ‘Homecoming’ launched ‘The Waltons’

“The Waltons” is one of the most beloved drama series ever made for television, and its history began on CBS in 1971 with the still-affecting movie “The Homecoming: A Christmas Story.” MeTV shows the film Sunday, Dec. 7, with Richard Thomas originating the role of eldest son John-Boy, who becomes pivotally involved in finding his missing father (Andrew Duggan here, though Ralph Waite had the part in the series) during an intense snowstorm. Oscar winner Patricia Neal stars as wife and mother Olivia Walton, who was played by Michael Learned in the weekly show set during the Depression, but the other younger players in this first “Waltons” tale — Judy Norton, Jon Walmsley, Mary Elizabeth McDonough, Eric Scott, David W. Harper and Kami Cotler — continued their characters in the series, and Ellen Corby also stayed on board as Grandma Walton. Writer Earl Hamner Jr., who first used the premise in his novel

“Die Hard” (FXM, Saturday, Dec. 13): So, is it a Christmas movie or isn’t it? That debate has raged for years over this 1988 action hit, and it probably isn’t any closer to being settled than it ever has been. In
