Kissing Bridge Hosts Three Special Events By Alicia Dziak

While Kissing Bridge is best known for its winter activities, it’s quickly becoming a year-round destination, with numerous happenings in the upcoming weeks. Friday, Sept. 15 is the last Harley Davidson Bike Night of the season, running from 6 to 10 p.m. Enjoy fire pits, contests, barbecue, the Jumpstart Harley experience and live music by DNR on Tap at 6 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 17, take part in the Emerling Jeep Trail Ride 2017. Ride over 47 miles of trails, with staggered start times starting at 9 a.m. Cost is $75 per vehicle (includes driver and one passenger; additional passengers are $10 each), but Jeeps purchased from Emerling ride free. On Sept. 23, the Hesco Bonefrog hits the slopes. independent annual audit summary and corrective action plan. The report showed a $2.3 million loss in the general fund from $7.1 million last year to $4.7 this year which is accounted for by the transfer of money for the $2 million capital project and B.O.C.E.S. project. Overall summary shows a sufficient balance in the fund to remain stable for the next few years. Campus Construction Management Group updated the board on the current status of the capital project, installing roofing on four school buildings. Griffins Football Home Opener a One-Sided Contest By Tim Oakley

Last Friday, the Springville Griffins varsity football team played host to the Dunkirk Marauders for the home opener to the 2017 season. The festivities began with spectators arriving earlier than normal at Pop Warner field. Some cheerleaders handed out pom poms and team flags while others painted faces. Many kids and parents tried their hand and the “Kan Jam” and “Bag Toss” set ups in the field. The Marauders had a large fan base that made the hour-long drive down

The regular meeting of the Village of Springville Board of Trustees was held Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at 65 Franklin Street. The meeting moved into a public hearing on Local Code Chapter 60 Animals. A good

number of residents attended the meeting and addressed major concerns with the law. The proposed law will change the number of dogs to four (4) dogs and four (4) cats per household with a total number of animals not to exceed six (6) animals. The law 60.11 cats defined that “a person who is an owner of a cat or a person who keeps, harbors or feeds a cat. The owner does not need to be a resident of the village of Springville, but the cat must be within the village limits.” The law allows addresses the keeping and regulations for chickens in the village. Preparations are continuing on the Concord Historical Society’s Heritage Building. The grand opening is Saturday, Sept. 30, and promises to be a great event for Springville. The Heritage Building will highlight Springville’s great
