The Summer Bucket List
Springville’s Historical Campus
By Jennifer Weber
One of the many, wonderful first impressions of Springville that my husband and I had when moving to this area several years ago was the
opportunity for nerds like ourselves to get lost in and explore several historical museums, right around the corner from each other. Sure, most towns have a Historical
Society, but the Concord Historical Society includes an entire campus of buildings including the Pop Warner Museum, Concord Mercantile, Heritage Building and the Lucy Bensley Genealogy Library. If you grew up in the Springville area, chances are good you visited one of these places as a student, but when was the last time you stepped foot inside as a grown-up? You might be surprised at what you find and how long you stay and wander once you see what’s inside. Pop Warner Museum/ Concord Historical Museum,

If you drive down Vaughn Street in Springville, it’s hard to believe that at one point, there was an airfield there. It is the most logical place
for one; it’s some the flattest land in the area. Today, the spot is overgrown with trees, the electrical substation is there and Land Pro uses the building

Celebrate the Unofficial End of Summer This Labor Day By Alicia Dziak
By Gwendolyn Fruehauf, SGI Student Reporter
With the start of the school year right around the corner, it is to no one’s surprise that all of the fall sports teams have jumped head first into preparation for the upcoming season. Last week, the Springville Cross Country team traveled to Allegany State Park to join Dunkirk, Silver Creek, and Pioneer at Camp Allegany, a 5-day running camp. These teams congregated not only in hopes of achieving physical goals, but also to expand social connections

HEY CHEVY & FORD.....
The unofficial end of summer comes and goes this weekend with Labor Day. Celebrated the first Monday in September, Labor Day is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and wellbeing of our country. Reward your hard work with a day of play, and choose from special events and places all over Western New York before school is back in session. This long weekend is your last chance of the season to head to the Holiday Valley pool complex, open only through Labor Day Monday. Join in some special activities that include: Friday, Sept. 1, 5 p.m. Hula Hoop Contest, 6
