In Ellicottville, the cure for the blues IS the blues and there’s a full lineup to be had at this weekend’s Jazz and Blues Fest, July 28-30. Stop by the Gin Mill and check out steel guitarist John Frinzi and steel pan artist John Patti on Friday, as well as the Blue Light Blues Band on Saturday. Balloons will feature Maria Aurigema playing her harddriving, energetic blues on Friday. Her credits include opening for big-name acts like Foreigner, Blue Oyster Cult, Edgar Winter, Johnny Winter, Little Feat, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Foghat, Steppenwolf, Sammy Hagar and Styx. Also that night, Keith Shuskie of The Voice fame will perform on the patio. On Saturday, Balloons will host contempo-jazz guitarist BD Lenz, as well as singer/ songwriter Ade Adu on the patio starting at 10 p.m. Catch Billy B and the Honey Dippers at Villaggio Friday night, and Growlers Blues Band on Saturday. Finnerty’s will present Wilky on Friday night. Head to Ellicottville Brewing Company to check out The Untouchables on Friday and Dozo My Lady Acoustic Trio on Saturday. Stop by Madigan’s on Saturday to check out both Michael DiSanto and QPhunk. The Silver Fox will host LTM Trio on Saturday. Guests can also head to the Winery of Ellicottville Mainstage on Monroe Street to see The Mick Hayes Band on Saturday and The Mark Mazur Little Band on Sunday. The best part about the weekend?
