JAZZ AND BLUES WEEKEND SCHEDULE
It’s Ellicottville’s 2018 Jazz and Blues Weekend! Whether you like your music with a southern flavor or Chicago-style, there’s something for everyone as all of EVL’s hot spots offer a full lineup of entertainment Friday through Sunday. The Gin Mill, at 20 Washington St., will feature the Blue Lite Blues Band on Friday, and Oreo Rodeo’s funk and groove style on Saturday. Balloons, at 20 Monroe St., will host electric blues guitarist Hayden Fogle Friday evening, followed by funky, jazzy, rockin’ guitarist extraordinaire BD Lenz on Saturday. At Finnerty’s Tap Room, at 5 E. Washington St., you can catch Aron Cole on Friday at 7 p.m., Rockabilly Steve and BR3 on Saturday at 4 p.m. and The Rig at 9 p.m. Sunday. Madigan’s, at 44 Washington St., will feature ST3 on Friday, and The Mick Hayes Band on Saturday. Villaggio, at 7 Monroe St., welcomes Patty Perks & The Sizzlin Heat on Friday, and Buffalo Blues Benefit Band on Saturday. EBC, at 28 Monroe St., will host the Untouchables on Saturday. July 2020 is Goal to Merge Town & Village Water By Caitlin Croft
The July meeting of the Town Board opened with a Public Hearing regarding Local Law No. 3 - 2018. This is a Local Law override the tax levy limit for fiscal year 2019. There were no members of the public in attendance to comment. The PH was left open for anyone who may stop by during the meeting. Next, there was a motion to approve the minutes of June 2018 meeting; there was a second and ayes carried. There was a motion to pay the Town bills on distribution report #07-2018; a second and ayes carried. Supervisor’s Report: Regarding the Intermunicipal Water Contracts, there have been slight revisions by the Town/ Village Engineer, Niles Pierson. This consists of combining the purchase and maintenance agreements into one contract. The Town will purchase 7.5 million gallons from the Village for

Opening day of the 176th annual Cattaraugus County Fair is less than a week away. The “big guns” this year are Tuesday and Wednesday night when Kane Brown on Tuesday and The Charlie Daniels Band on Wednesday are set to country rock the fairgrounds. Brown sold out the track seats and bleachers in a record 15 minutes, according to Kristina Charlesworth Golden, and the 2,500-seat grandstand sold out in less than a week. There are still track, bleachers and grandstand seats for Wednesday night’s Charlie Daniels Band show, Golden said. Daniels has visited the fairgrounds as

recently as 2002 and 2007, she added. Fairgrounds admission is required to attend the concerts. “A lot of younger kids have gotten into country rock and country crossover music,” Golden said. Tickets are $30 and $35 and are available at the fairgrounds, online at www.cattarauguscofair.com, or by calling 938-9146. General fair admission is $12 for ages 2 and older. Advance sale tickets are available for $8.
