There’s no better way to enjoy summer than with a little live music on a warm summer night! Mark your calendars— from national names to local celebrities, here is a round-up of live music coming our way this summer: June Country Gathering Saturday, June 10 @ 11 a.m. Granny’s Boot Antiques and Grevpode Gallery, 10761 Miller Road, Springville This unique family event is held many times a year on the property of Granny’s Boot Antiques home of Grevpode Gallery. This outdoor-themed festival will have garden exhibits, outdoor demonstrations and artisans, and live musical performances by Dana Manz, a folk artist who performs acoustic covers of oldies, folk, popular music and originals. For more information on this event, visit the TMEM Festivals and Country Gatherings Facebook page: @TMEMFestivals1. 3rd Annual Cadiz Flag Day Saturday, June 10 Cadiz Cemetery, 7261 Cadiz Road, Franklinville This third annual public festival will kick off with an old-fashioned community picnic at noon, and include music from the past performed by Rushford Band and a performance from Ellicottville High School students who will sing in memory of the brave soldier buried at the cemetery. The ceremony will conclude with the reading of the Gettysburg Address. Hot dogs and beverages will be provided. Public is welcome and asked to please bring a dish to pass. The Ellicottville Chamber ECS Ranked High Among Welcomes Rhino Lacrosse! WNY Elementary Schools The Inaugural Ellicottville Lacrosse Festival Takes to the Village in September The Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Rhino Lacrosse, is proud to announce the inaugural Ellicottville Lacrosse Tournament, Sept. 22 through 24, 2017! The games will take place on fields at the Ellicottville Central School and the Village park, with a vendor village nestled between the two playing areas. The tournament will bring youth and adult teams from all over the northeastern region of the United States. The tournament is an addition to those operated by Rhino Lacrosse around the country including similar events in Saratoga Springs, NY and Bend, OR. Rhino Lacrosse was founded and operated by Ryan Powell, former Syracuse Orange 4-time All American Lacrosse superstar. Powell also played in the NLL, professional box (indoor) lacrosse, from the Buffalo Bandits, Anaheim, Portland, and

The upcoming Costa Rica and Washington D.C. trips and Ellicottville’s rankings in the recent Buffalo Business First were the highlights of last Tuesday’s Ellicottville Central Schools Board of Education Meeting. In a special school guide
published by Buffalo Business First, Ellicottville was ranked 22 out of 257 schools in the Western New York Elementary School Rankings. The school also placed ninth in the category of math and 32nd in the category of English. “No other elementary school See ECS Rankings page 2

The countdown to the Cattaraugus County Fair has begun! In less than two months, 4-H members from all over the county will be headed to the fairgrounds in Little Valley to showcase the animals they’ve been raising and the projects they’ve been working on throughout the year. Learn
