Upcoming Events May 13 Happy Half Marathon and 5K Holiday Valley

By Alicia Dziak

Get ready to do your happy dance! The Happy Half and 5K and Beer Mile return to Holiday Valley on Saturday, May 13. If you haven’t had a chance to sign up yet, there are still spots left in both the half marathon and the Beer Mile. (The 5K is sold out). Or come watch all the fun! The Happy Half begins at 10 a.m., followed by the 5K at 10:20 a.m. The route, while slightly different than last year’s, heads out of the resort and along Route 219 toward Great Valley. The sure-to- be-entertaining Beer Mile starts at 1 p.m. Whether you think drinking a 12-oz. beer, followed by a 400 m run, and repeating three more times seems easy or hard, it’ll definitely be memorable! The Southern Tier Brewing Co. after-party will feature a tasty selection of fare, including a salad bar, Pho noodle bar, stir- fry station, pizza station and more from HV’s food service provider, Centerplate, that can be enjoyed by participants and spectators alike. Participants also get custom designed t-shirts and medals featuring an adorable unicorn that’s sure to put a smile on your face! The event schedule is as follows: Friday May 12 4:30– 7 p.m. – Packet Pickup – Holiday Valley Resort (Main Lodge). Saturday May 13 7– 9:30 a.m. – Packet Pickup – Holiday Valley Resort (Main Lodge)
