The existing Ellesmere Port Town F.C. was reformed in 2011 and entered the Chester and District Football League. After gaining promotion in 2012, 2013 and 2014, the Club was elected into Division 3 of the West Cheshire League in 2015/16. Following 2 promotions in 3 years, the Club has maintained its status in Division 1 since 2018/19. The Club now operates over 20 Teams across various age groups and includes a Reserve Team, Youth Team, Vets Team, Women’s Team and Sunday Team

The original club was formed in 1924 as Ellesmere Port Town F.C. However, the Club folded in 1978. A new Ellesmere Port Town was formed in the 1992 and entered the North West Counties Football League Division Two. However, this was to only last 2 years before financial restraints led to the folding of the Club once more.

A Word from the Chairman 7 Welcome to today’s game… A big welcome to players, officials, coaches and followers of Prescot Cables FC Reserves. As always we’re looking forward to what should be a great game played in the right spirit. I’d like to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers and anyone in our community who supports us in any way. Without you, our club wouldn’t continue to grow from strength to strength. Whilst our First Team are in action, I also want to wish our Reserve Team, Youth, Vets and countless Junior Teams well that are in action over the coming week. For those of you who are joining us for the game, I hope to see you in the Whitby Club for a drink, food and a chat after the final whistle. Up the Port!

This summer, however, has been very different. By the end of last season (having signed 75 players in total!), we finally ended the campaign with a small but committed squad of players capable of competing in this AfterLeague.acouple of weeks off, we set about planning, preparing and recruiting for this season. We genuinely feel that we offer the best coaching, development and support of any Club in the area and, through that, have been able to enhance our squad with a number of great additions. Pre-season was excellent. Results may have been up and down but we got lots of minutes into the players to make sure they’re ready for the season ahead. Whether you are at the Whitby Club to watch, keeping an eye on on social media or just happen to be reading this match programme, we thank you for your support to this fantastic Club. Will Will Ivatt, First Team Manager Today’s Game Today we welcome Prescot Cables Reserves to the Port in what I hope is an entertaining and goal-filled fixture. Last season, our two Clubs shared 11 goals across the two fixtures showing the attacking capabilities of both teams. However, it’s fair to say that both Clubs struggled to pick up results consistently and a considerable amount of work has continued over the summer to avoid a repeat. Our Preparations Last season was by far my most challenging and tumultuous in 25 years of managing and Havingcoaching.taken the role on, alongside Assistant Manager Mike Byrne, we didn’t quite realise the size of the task. After finishing second-bottom the previous year, we found that we were left without a single player to sign on and hardly any time to recruit an entirely new squad before the season commenced.
