THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR WORK TO MAKE ECWA PRESERVES THRIVE!
Hi ECWA Preserve Stewards! I am thrilled to join the ECWA team as Land Conservation Manager With over seven years of experience in land conservation, watershed restoration, and community engagement, I look forward to bringing my experience and positive energy to ECWA! Together, we will work to connect people with nature and continue to enhance the crucial habitats within Ellerbe Creek Watershed
CHRISTOPHER LEONARD LAND CONSERVATION MANAGER
I’d love to learn more about your work in the preserves and join you on a hike or workday in November!
For October: please send your upcoming workday plans to preservestewards@ellerbecreek.org to coordinate times to accompany you and share all the wonderful work you ’ re doing within the preserves with our community!
For those who haven’t met me yet- I’m Nicole, ECWA ED! Because my background is natural resource management in wetlands, I’ve been able to work with wildland fire, trail maintenance, education, forestry tools, wetland restoration, and I’ve developed & coordinated a statewide freshwater restoration program of over 20,000 volunteers! Now that Christopher is on board, we are looking forward to increasing safety, accessibility, & use of ECWA’s incredible preserves.
Coming soon: updates to ECWA’s maps, signage, and kiosks!
NICOLE LLINÁS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Q: How can I get involved with Preserve Workdays if I’ve been a steward, volunteer, or am new to ECWA?
A: ECWA will use Bloomerang Volunteer to schedule & track workday participation over the year, including hours worked, number of volunteers, and more. Most importantly it will allow ECWA to streamline the process for everyone to sign waivers, schedule workdays, & recognize ongoing work. Scan the QR code above to register for important updates!
Q: Should we prepare any record of the workday?
A: Yes, ECWA would like to track workday logistics and share successes after each event. Please include details about our Areas of Interest, the target work for the day (ie. trash cleanup, invasive species removal, etc), photos, and any other relevant information. This information is essential for us to understand what went well, and what we can improve on. It also allows us to highlight the incredible work you ’ re doing and the impactful projects that keep the preserves in good shape!
