Ihave created a comprehensive book that contains all my creative ideas, including mood boards, mock-ups, and thought processes that guide my artistic decisions. It is a journey of experimentation and refinement, and every page of the book showcases my growth. Since I am working with three brands, namely ROTATE, Baum und Pferdgarten, and Fillipa K. With each brand, I embark on a unique creative journey, resulting in a variety of mood boards and tailored concepts that reflect their distinct identities. Throughout the book, I explain the genesis of my ideas to provide a clear understanding of each creative idea. While the book primarily focuses on the conceptual foundations of my visual narratives, I don’t discuss my ideas on styling. Instead, it highlights the overarching themes and narratives that drive my photographic explorations.

begin, I aimed to define the specific facial aesthetic I envisioned for my final images. This involved selecting the ideal makeup and hairstyle. Opting for a Scandinavian-inspired appearance, carefully chose models, makeup, and hair that embodied the essence of the “Scandi Look.” concept emphasises a natural appearance characterised by minimal makeup, akin to a bare face—avoiding heavy eye makeup or dark lipstick. Regarding hairstyles, the focus was on effortlessly natural looks, featuring predominantly straight or wavy hair. In terms of casting, I sought out slender models, reflecting typical Scandinavian physique. I’ve compiled boards showcasing ideas, which you see on this page and following pages.
For the Baum Und Pferdgarten photoshoot, I wanted to infuse elements of interior design, a significant hallmark of Scandinavian culture, into my project. Through my research, I discovered the importance of this cultural aspect and sought to incorporate it meaningfully. To appeal specifically to a younger audience, I conceived the idea of staging the photoshoot within a Gen-Z bedroom setting. The concept was to transport viewers into a relatable space, evoking the authenticity of a real bedroom despite it being a meticulously crafted set. I envisioned a deliberately messy ambience, capturing the casual yet curated aesthetic often associated with contemporary youth culture. To solidify my vision, I created a mood board that encapsulated my interpretation of a Scandinavianstyle bedroom. This mood board served as a visual guide, showcasing my conceptualisation of the space, including furniture and decorative elements. Furthermore, on the subsequent page, I meticulously constructed a mock-up of the desired final image. This mock-up played a crucial role in refining my concept, allowing me to visualise and plan every detail in preparation for both the practice shoot and the actual photoshoot. By immersing myself in this process of visualisation and planning, I ensured that my creative vision aligned seamlessly with the brand’s aesthetic and the targeted audience’s preferences. This meticulous approach not only enhanced the conceptualisation phase but also facilitated a smoother execution during the photoshoot, ultimately translating into compelling and impactful visual storytelling.
After completing the mock-up phase, I proceeded with a comprehensive practice photo shoot in preparation for the main session. This step was instrumental in refining various elements, particularly the set design and camera angles, to ensure they aligned perfectly with my creative vision for the final images. Conducting a practice shoot allowed me to test different compositions, lighting scenarios, and perspectives, enabling me to identify and address any potential challenges or shortcomings before the actual shoot. It was crucial to fine-tune these details during the practice session to achieve optimal results during the main shoot. One significant aspect that emerged during the practice shoot was the realisation of potential issues with natural lighting. Given the location’s reliance on natural light, I recognised the importance of controlling and potentially blocking out external light sources to achieve consistent and high-quality imagery. This insight prompted me to strategize and implement effective lighting techniques for the main shoot, ensuring optimal conditions for capturing the desired final look. The outcomes from the practice shoot are in the following pages. Overall, I was pleased with the results, and this exercise served as invaluable preparation for the final shoot. By proactively addressing challenges and fine-tuning details during the practice session, I gained confidence and clarity in executing the main shoot with precision and creativity. This thorough preparation was essential in realising my artistic vision and ensuring the success of the Baum Und Pferdgarten images, ultimately leading to impactful and visually compelling final images.
For the Filipa K photoshoot, I went on a creative journey that delved deep into Scandinavian culture, particularly exploring the profound connection to nature and the outdoors. Drawing inspiration from my research on Scandinavian key concepts, where the importance of open-air living was highlighted, I recognised the significance of infusing this theme into the visual narrative for Filipa K. This cultural resonance not only adds depth to the imagery but also resonates authentically with the brand’s ethos and aesthetic. To amplify the visual impact and narrative complexity of the photoshoot, I conceived the idea of integrating a studio backdrop alongside natural outdoor elements. This approach was driven by a desire to showcase the versatility of Filipa K’s clothing, illustrating how each piece seamlessly transitions from a studio setting to the dynamic backdrop of everyday outdoor environments. By juxtaposing the sleekness of studio aesthetics with the organic beauty of nature, the photoshoot aims to communicate a compelling story about adaptability, lifestyle, and the symbiotic relationship between Scandinavian fashion and the natural world. In addition to still photography, I strategically planned to incorporate video content into the project, recognising the importance of engaging multimedia formats in today’s digital landscape. With the objective of appealing to a younger demographic and leveraging platforms like TikTok, the photoshoot’s concept seamlessly translates into captivating video narratives. The envisioned mock-up, showcased on the following page, serves as a blueprint for visualising and refining the desired look and feel of the final videos and images. This meticulous approach ensures that every aspect of the creative process aligns cohesively with Filipa K’s brand identity, ultimately contributing to a compelling and impactful visual narrative that resonates with contemporary audiences and elevates the brand’s presence in the fashion industry.
After completing my mood board and mock-ups, I proceeded to conduct a practice shoot at the planned outdoor location for the main shoot. This was an essential step to assess the feasibility of the outdoor setting and determine whether the concept would effectively translate to this environment. Outdoor photography presents unique challenges such as weather conditions and natural lighting, which need to be carefully evaluated. During the practice shoot, I encountered potential issues that could impact the main shoot, with the most notable challenge being the wind, which disrupted the set pieces. To address this observation, I devised a proactive strategy: if windy conditions persisted on the day of the shoot, I would embrace and incorporate the wind into the final images. This aligned with my vision of creating natural and dynamic visuals, showcasing the interplay between fashion and nature’s elements. Overall, the practice shoot was a valuable learning experience that enabled me to anticipate and address potential obstacles. It allowed me to formulate contingency plans and adapt creatively to unforeseen circumstances, ensuring a smoother and more resilient execution on the day of the official shoot. This proactive approach mitigated risks and enriched the creative process, enhancing the authenticity and spontaneity of the final imagery.
or the Rotate photoshoot, I aimed to fully showcase the distinctive aesthetic of the brand while also tapping into the lively and sociable culture prevalent in Scandinavia. I conceptualised a theme centred around a 70s disco vibe to infuse the photographs with energy and charisma. This choice was driven by a desire to capture not just fashion, but a sense of atmosphere and lifestyle that resonates with the brand’s identity and the spirit of Scandinavian social scenes. The mood boards created for the Rotate photoshoot serve as a visual representation of my inspiration and vision. They highlight the specific elements of 70s disco culture that influenced my creative direction, including bold colours, playful patterns, and expressive styling. By immersing myself in this aesthetic, I aimed to craft a narrative through the photographs that not only showcases the clothing but also transports viewers into the world of ROTATE. Through the mood boards, I carefully curated references and ideas that informed the overall look and feel of the photoshoot. Ultimately, the goal was to create a series of images that resonate with the target audience, embodying the essence of ROTATE’s brand identity while celebrating the sociable and spirited culture of Scandinavia.
