Running a workshop Ella Meert
I have always loved working with kids, babysitting etc. I find it amusing, seeing how their minds work.
When I was 10, I remember my mum mentioning these like babysitting jobs, I wanted to make money to buy god know what. But yeah, it slipped my mind, I thought about how I would make money, what would I use it for (the usual), I didn’t think everything through but come on, I was 10.
Winter 2020, I was 11, I came up with a brilliant plan, to host a Christmas workshop for the little kids of my mum’s huge friend group. We were gonna make cupcakes and decorate them, something fun… HUGE SUCCESS. I had fun, the kids had fun, plus I made some good money and I, later on, used that money to help buy a new phone. In the next year, I wanted to do it again, I just never did, but in winter 2021 I hosted a workshop again, same kids but decorating cookies again…. HUGE SUCCESS I made about 300 Dhs.
It’s an eye-opener, helping little kids make something you’re passionate about and seeing them enjoy it, it was great, it did become a tradition that every winter we will get the kids together for a workshop. I genuinely think that, if you are truly passionate about what your hobby is, then make something out of it, it can be big or small, might even be weird but then that’s your little weird guilty pleasure. Follow Your Dreams, Never Stop.
