Welcome to my architectural technologist portfolio. This collection showcases my expertise architectural drafting, construction detailing and 3D design, Proficient in tools such as MiTek, AutoCAD, and Revit, i focus on creating efficient designs for commercial and residential projects.

Design Software - Blueprint reading and Drafting - 3D modeling - Building Code - Structural

Design - Attention to detail - Problem-Solving - Collaboration - Time management

I am creative and a detail oriented individual with a passion for design and problem solving. With a background in architecture and family history in construction i enjoy turning ideas into solutions Outside of my work I'm drawn to creative hands on projects and outdoor activities and finding inspiration in everyday challenges.

first semester

The purpose of this project was to design a functional, code compliant single family home and learn to get to know the client and the importance of the balance between special efficiency, and comfort. This project included designing a full set of architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections and details. And complying with Calgary building code and bylaw. The lot was small so the clients desire for spacious living was challenging and following bylaw made limited options for windows and lighting. The solution was to limit walls and design an open concept living space to enhance the flow and make the small house feel brighter and bigger.

second semester

The goal of this mixed use project was to design a functional and modern building that integrates retail spaces on the main floor with comfortable and private residential units above reflecting Calgary's urban planning strategies. This project emphasized optimizing a small urban lot to create an inviting space for both shoppers and residents. The scope was to create floor plans, sections and elevations while adhering to site specific regulations and fire codes. Key challenges included maximizing natural light and privacy within a compact site, addressing parking lot requirements and meeting fire code. To solve these challenges the design oriented residential spaces towards the sun, incorporated diagonal parking for efficient flow and accessibility and strategically placed fire exits to optimize safety and circulation throughout the building, meeting fire code requirements.

third semester

The purpose of this project was to design a mixed use commercial building that integrates functional office spaces and retail units while meeting client requirements for modern aesthetic, efficiency and sustainability. This project provided valuable learning in structural coordination and integrating energy efficient solutions. The primary goals of this design where to balance tenant functionality with aesthetic appeal, developing floor plans, elevations, sections and details that prioritize circulation and usability. The design complies with building codes for office and retail spaces and incorporates strategies to enhance natural light, creating an efficient and comfortable environment. Initially the design featured a fully glazed facade to maximize natural light and create an open, modern aesthetic. However, after applying building regulations on the allowable percentage of glazing to facade area, adjustments were required to be compliant. The glazing was reduced by adding metal panelling to break up the glass. This ensured compliance with building code but also added depth and aesthetic appeal to the facade.

fourth semester

The purpose of this capstone project was to design a mixed use, multi residential building near calgary downtown core, addressign the city’s growing population and the demand for walkable, transit oriented communties. The 7 story building features a mix of studio, two bedroom, and penthouse units, each with balconies oriented to maximize natural light and downtown views. Sustainability was prioritized through the inclusion of solar panels, a 2% slope on balconies for proper drainage and compliance with green building principles. The project also includes three retail units on the main floor, an underground parking lot with designated stalls and strategic infrastructure such as U-shaped staircases and central corridors for optimal circulation. Challenges such as integrating the mechanical shaft without compromising unit layouts and balancing mixed-use functionality were resolved through careful design adjustments. The result is a modern structure that blends residential, and retail to promote a healthy lifestyle. This project showcases my ability to address real world design challenges, and create vibrant urban spaces.

structural floor designer

working as a structural floor designer I create efficient floor layouts using MiTek software. My primary responsibilities include analyzing architectural blueprints and customer specifications to design floor systems that optimize material use while ensuring structural integrity. The designs included beam and joist placements that meet safety codes and project requirements. The visuals on the slide showcase the floor plans and 3D rendering I developed. These images highlight my ability to interpret complex architectural plans and translate them into functional, buildable designs. This role not only strengthened my technical knowledge but also enhances problem solving skills and attention to detail.
