The new coronavirus may have turned our world upside down in staggering ways, but even in isolation we are still together, united in our mission to serve and celebrate seniors. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our staff and board, in tandem with the cooperation and trust of our residents and families, we instituted aggressive “prevention and preparedness” measures early on to block the coronavirus from entering our community and to swiftly respond if, or when, cases of COVID-19 arise. This robust response comes with a tremendous financial cost which, due to the extreme vulnerability of our community, will continue to be necessary in the coming months, even after the general population returns to some semblance of normalcy.
