Historic downtown Snohomish is built on the banks of the river for which it is named and still maintains the character and charm of country living Established in 1858, Snohomish quickly became a center of commerce in the region. During that time, very prosperous thriving town built 80 new beautifully designed home, had the first paved street and first automobile. Many of the original homes are today part of the charming Historic District and house restaurants, bars and antique shops. Many houses have a plaque with the year they were built and the name of the original residents
Snohomish is the place folks come when looking for antiques - it is often referred to as the Antique Capital of the Northwest. Scenic Snohomish River passes through town, with the popular Snohomish Centennial Trail running along it for a while. The town is surrounded by many wineries and fertile farms growing berries, corn, pumpkins in season and more, providing great family outing, berry-picking, corn maze exploring and other activities
