Lake Forest Park is a quiet residential bedroom community for Seattle workers. The homes that were built here during the 1950s-70s have a forest feel. Developers resisted the urge to clear cut, leaving many of the homes in this area with a view of the trees. Many of the homes in Lake Forest Park are in heavily wooded areas. Most homes are perched on a hill that overlooks Lake Washington. Where the forest allows, some homes have fabulous views of the water and the city. If you head into the commercial area, you will find
a plethora of grocery stores, bowling alleys, and coffee shops on Bothell Way. The community prides itself on the close access to the Burke-Gilman Trail that runs along Lake Washington. This trail is unique to the area because it spans 27 miles and utilizes an abandoned Eastern Railway Corridor for the path. Trail goers can commute from Bothell all the way West into Seattle by biking, walking, or skating. Commuters can have access to Seattle in about 25 minutes without having to use the crowded freeway by traveling on State Route 522, which passes right through the main road in Lake Forest Park.

The school district has strong parent involvement at all levels, including one of the strongest PTA Councils in the state.
