Puyallup is located in Pierce County about 10 miles southeast of Tacoma and 35 miles south of Seattle. The city is the home of the Puyallup Fair, the fifth largest fair in the country. Each September, more than a million people “Do the Puyallup” and jam the fairgrounds to enjoy carnival rides, gadgets and guilds, farm animals and food. Agriculture has been an economic mainstay of the Puyallup Valley for more than

100 years. From the first Saturday in May through the first Saturday in September, farm-fresh items are sold directly to the public at the Puyallup Farmers Market. The city also boasts a fantastic array of restaurants and bars that use local and fresh ingredients from the surrounding area. There continues to be rapid growth in the community’s residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. The excitement, energy, and conveniences of modern development have occurred while Puyallup has maintained the best aspects of its rural heritage and quality of life.

PUYALLUP SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Puyallup School District is the eighth largest district in the state of Washington, serving a population of approximately 122,806 residents. The district is located six miles east of Tacoma, 30 miles south of Seattle, and is situated in the heart of the Puyallup Valley. The district has 22 elementary schools, seven junior high schools, three comprehensive senior high schools, and an alternative school, all of which serve more than 22,250 students. The Puyallup School District, in partnership with our diverse communities, educates and inspires students to reach their full potential.
